I'm looking at this bike next week. He has some goodies, but most not to my taste. I know he has some money into it, but I don't see them selling used for more than 8k regardless. Looking for feedback. I see reading here many struggle trying to make it right...windscreens, bars, risers with limited options. This look like a good deal? I see many listing over 8 and actually selling at 8 or below. What say the experts?

I'd say it is worth it... it has the Corbin bags already, and some
kind of windshield that is tilted back at fork angle. I couldn't ride
mine with those bars or that seat, but some could... changing bars
is hard... it would be hard to find a new one for less than 10 or 11,
and I think the bags outweigh that low mileage...

I know that if I was looking that I would buy it for that price.  Basically, you are getting the bike for @ $6500.  They guy has over $3500 in accessories on the bike.

Corbin bags: $1900
Windscreen: $350
Fog lights: $250
Corbin seat: $633
Two backrests: $500
Rear Rack: $100
Tank bib: $100

I would buy it and sell what you don't want.

The guy would probably take $9000-9500.  At that price, it is a steal.

Agree!  I would offer $9,000 for it providing there's no dame found after a thorough inspection.  Nice bike for sure!

I like it, and the color combo, think its a good price for what all it already has on it.  I think the accessory estimates above are a little low in some areas.  I can't see much if anything else I would want to add to it, except highway pegs, but if you wanted to remove some stuff.... you could recoup some funds.   If that was closer to me (like it is to you) and if I had not already got one earlier this year, I would consider that in a heart beat.....      He initially offered it on Facebook for 11k...

Just remember accessories are only worth about $10 per $100 spent when selling a bike, while he may have spent $3500 they are only worth about $350 in resale.

Very good point and I agree. I sold off my old Valkyrie with over $9k in receipts (after purchase) for a song. My loss.
Thanks for your replies fellas...we'll see what comes from this.

Foo.

If you can find a set of Corbin bags and a Corbin seat for $350, I'll
buy them...

Not necessarily.....   to someone that wants those accessories on that bike, they are worth much more.   If a buyer doesn't want those accessories, then yes they could be worth much less when removed and resold......but why buy a bike with that when there are surely plenty naked ones out there.  That doesn't make sense.

Doug, that bike belongs to Steve and Colleen who ride with us, The Windshild is a custom one made from our 1500 brackets and a newer shield.  It is a beautiful bike with a brand new front tire.  He has a full on wing as well.

Keep in mind, this is not my ideal setup and therefore, I would not pay the ideal rate for it. The bike itself, without the acc is worth about 8k.
In today's market, I would pay max $9500 for it with the understanding that I would end up removing and selling the saddlebags, and pass backrest for certain. The only accessories I consider must have are the foglights and windshield cause I ride in the dark often, and on the hwy frequently. I hate studs, so it loses some value in my eyes for that too. YMMV.
I'd make this offer knowing I could buy brand new and add the foglights and windshield myself for less than 9500 but will pay slightly more for the convenience of one already setup, and hoping I can recoup some of the cost with the things I'd strip and sell.
If you like the total package, then bargain with that in mind. If not, just offer what you're willing to spend on the things you want.

Thanks guys (Hi Jerry),
This did not work out for me. I didn't even call to schedule a look. My Mom has been in the hospital and I find myself unemployed after a company buyout. Tough week.

I would be better off finding a clean stock bike. Turboyoshi, I also do not like studs on Japanese bikes. Not a fan of Corbin seats or tall shields, so basically everything he has done would come off with exception of the pod lights.
Thanks for the reply's cooldude

Wow Doug, sorry to hear about the Work situation. Happened to me and 130 others in 2010.  I hope you work things out soon.
