Registration has now been open for 24 hours.  We have 71 InZaniacs registered to attend!!  Not too bad for one day.

WoooHoooo, looks like it's going to be a good one.

Registered Tues.  Had a hiccup on the process but it's cleared up.  Will be looking for a roomate to share the cost - have a 2-queens (that's beds, folks) room reserved. Half will be $49.50 plus taxes per night, Sun-Thurs nights.

It took us about 2 years after the Valk first appeared in '96 to establish this club - I was involved. I picked up Deerslayer new June '97.  Another couple years or so before the first Inzane in Zanesville.  I was there.  Glad I got to tour the Marysville factory before they changed it over to making cars.  Had a headlight failure on the road in KS - burned out my H4 plug as I had not replaced it with the hi-power upgrade. http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/Tech_Tips/Headlight_Upgrade/headlight_upgrade.html

Rode the rest of the way on the spots and put in a NAPA ceramic plug in Zanesville.  Next year, same destination for IZ II, had another failure in KS.  One of my spark plug wires was damaged in the Deerslayer incident and I had not found it. Breakdowns always seem to wait for a road trip.

Looking forward to this ride.  Haven't done a 1500 mile ea way ride since Morgantown.  Might be riding alone but that's fine with me - kinda like Bruce in that respect and I'm alone on road trips more than not.  The more riders there are, the more problems, delays, lost unscheduled stops / detours (I like to read historical markers and travel state highways; stop for a Dairy Queen on a hot day) and potential mismatched riding styles.  After all - not like we need a group and a chase pickup with trailer like the harley rides which are likely to have major breakdowns any time.  Though I do bring tools and sometimes use them.  Typically to fix some non-Honda thing.  Like the Brake-away on the last long ride, got out of adjustment.  And the phone X-holder, the charger plug quit.  Now that Garmin chose to EOL and break Mapsource and replaced it with that STUPID BaseCamp, the Zumo usually wants to take me on an unplanned detour.  Which means I see some country I didn't plan to.  Now I verify what it chooses on the phone.

BTW - I was experimenting last year, with open carry when on the road.  (Never do that at home)  It was successful in that it discouraged a road rager who followed us into a gas stop for a fight, on the way to our meetup at Buena Vista.  That situation - the rager got pissed at my wife who was following me and slowed down too much as she was switching to reserve on Hwy 50 along the river, after we had just passed the too-slow rage-cage.  I flipped the ahole off as he deserved - then he followed us into the station at Salida 10 miles later.  I stood there with the .357 on my hip and he decided it was better to make a comment on how he was going to "remember harley riders" then drove off before he bit off more than he could chew.  I've decided now to open carry only when not in a group ride and on the open road.  Really not needed to secure politeness from aholes when in a bike group.  And already don't want locals in my hometown to focus on my carry.  (If they are lefties, that becomes the ONLY thing you are to them, a right-wing gun nut, potentially about to freak out and commit mayhem.  I had to fire one of my business suppliers when their dock guy, who had seen my carry under my shirt when it printed, then EVERY time he saw me it was a comment on the carry.  I reminded him it's called "CONCEALED carry" for a reason and it WILL NO LONGER be talked about by him.  He didn't get it so after that warning and he did it again, I informed his boss and fired the company.  Too bad for them - they've lost thousands in business due to their lefty dock guy.)  Not to mention retaining the element of surprise rather than the first target of a perp during a holdup.  So if that made any (ahem) closet lefties in our group uncomfy - that experiment is done.

The reservations must be made through the call center (the 800 number).  They cannot be made by calling the hotel directly.

I'm curious as to the drop dead or last date one can register and still qualify for potential cancellation/refunds.
It may be on a the registration page and I simply missed it.

The date you register has nothing to do with whether or not you are eligible for a refund.  The date you cancel determines eligibility for refund.

Done! After not going to an inZane since Eureka springs due to life keeping us busy, both Viv and I will be attending. Since Viv can't ride that far with her knee problems, we will be trailering up, riding while there and enjoying every minute of it. We are both excited to be going again.  cooldude

(Viv's especially happy that this time she won't be pullin' up in a big limo like she did in Eureka Springs) Wink Embarrassed

I believe that the VRCC staff has to manually update the "Look Who's Going" page.

When i called the 800 # to make reservations they didn't seem to care about the order number.

I asked them to at least put it in the comments section, I don't know if she did or not.
