Title: Re: Couple of ride pics Post by: Adirondack Bill on October 31, 2018, 10:04:45 AM Very nice Robert. Here in Upstate New York we have had a crappy fall- rain almost every day and tempatures 10 to 15 degrees below normal. It sucks because I love fall riding.

We are just about done up here. Like Bill said, "we have had a crappy fall- rain almost everyday". As long as the snow holds off I might be able to sneak a couple more rides in. Lets hope. :cooldude: Title: Re: Couple of ride pics Post by: Robert on October 31, 2018, 03:40:07 PM Upstate NY, I miss it sometimes what a great state, I love the air when it just turns and you get that fresh air and when you open the door in the AM you take a deep breath. Sorry you guys did not have a great fall, when the leaves turn and really show off the colors its so beautiful. I hope you guys get an Indian summer and are able to get out for some more rides. One of the best places that have leaves is Mass around Springfield and Connecticut River.
The pic is from out at Lake Okeechobee at about 6 PM. Its been a bit hard trying to get a ride on the weekends and Saturday was no exception. But went out to a late lunch with the wife then shopping and it was so nice I just couldn't pass it up. You know those days when you go to steer home and the bike just wont go in that direction ;) I tried to fight it on the highway but it just went past the home exit. All of a sudden there was a throttle roll on and off we went. Was grateful for being a bit overcast since the sun was hot and the air was cool. Driving along the cane fields and being pretty quiet and peaceful as I rode along my thoughts were on just cruising and smell in the air. Sometimes you get a whiff of something kind of sweet and that is the cane field that gives way to cut grass and water smells. Anywhere you stop its so quiet just great to enjoy the scenery. I dont know if you guys have this problem but when just cruising along at around 75 on the back roads the throttle just seems to open wide all of sudden and you find yourself going considerably faster and have to slow down. I dont know why that happens. Title: Re: Couple of ride pics Post by: bscrive on October 31, 2018, 06:17:58 PM Unfortunately, my bike has been put away for the season. Now the loooong wait until spring. :-[

OH come on there must still be good riding days. :o I dont know how you guys do it. When I lived up north and had a boat mine was the last one out and the first one in. I would sometimes have to break the ice around it just so it would not freeze to solid around it. Title: Re: Couple of ride pics Post by: bscrive on November 02, 2018, 09:23:20 AM It has been mainly raining here, or near freezing when it is sunny. I no longer ride in those conditions. I like the warm days now for riding. 8)
Title: Re: Couple of ride pics Post by: pago cruiser on November 03, 2018, 12:10:10 PM Dang. I could not imagine not riding fall and winter.
It's 65F here and I'm about to go down to the bike wash place. Winter here means "install the electrics (vest and gloves) and find the long thinsulate helmet liner" that always seems to get lost in the closet.. Prepping for a Tucson to Albuquerque work trip Monday. I usually ride thru the AZ-NM mountains (7000-8500' elevations) as opposed to the fast-but-boring freeway. Expected lows in the mid 30's, highs in the 60's... 8) Never to far, never too wet, never too cold; except for ice... ice is just... unfair. :o |
