Helps prevent such things along with certain kinds of kidney stones which is what I take it for. Haven't had a stone for nearly 10 yrs. now. As a side note, if you come remind me to tell you a prank I pulled on my ex re. her gout. She bit....and wouldn't talk to me for weeks.
