Title: Losing Fluid from Clutch Reservoir
Post by: Coot on March 22, 2020, 05:53:53 AM
Good morning. I am slowly losing fluid from my clutch reservoir. it requires topping up every 500 miles, or so.  No signs of leaks and no puddles on the garage floor. Thoughts, please.

Its got to be leaking somewhere. I'd check the slave cylinder area as it a hard place to see. This fluid is very caustic to about everything it touches.

There is a seal on the push rod in the slave area, that when it leaks, the fluid will get into the engine oil.

FYI: I believe that I have traced the problem to the slave cylinder, thanks to your helpful suggestions.

Part #14 I believe.

BUT:

You should also renew the seal on the slave piston and clean the slave cylinder bore.

Because that is the main problem you are having.

That is where the leak is actually occurring.
