Title: I'm currently sitting on curb waiting for tow truck... Cobra pipes Post by: Guitarmoto on July 13, 2021, 08:08:57 PM I just had Cobra pipes, new air filter, new tires and all around oil change... New tires etc.
Just picked up the bike and it was roaring. Soon as I got a block away it starts choking out as I give it more gas. It stalls out and I can't get it started. It seems if I let it sit for a while it might fire up but I'm running the battery down on the starter trying. Do I need new Jets or what's happening? Cobra pipes Post by: Avanti on July 13, 2021, 08:25:29 PM You might have a fuel valve that has a vacuum leak or the fuel tank vent is plugged. Placing something between the gas cap when closed will leave an air space and solve the venting problem temporarily. There is a fix also for the fuel valve but tools are needed. Can be done road side with the right tools but a little more complicated. Make sure you have fuel and in the reserve position.

I got 5 miles toward home and she stopped dead. (my ride down was long gone) I called them and told them and they said bring it back. I can't push it 5 miles, won't you send me a truck or something (2 guys could put it in a truck)? NO! I spent all day getting it home, and sued them in small claims court. This started my love affair with all vehicle dealers. Title: Re: I'm currently sitting on curb waiting for tow truck... Title: Re: I'm currently sitting on curb waiting for tow truck... Cobra pipes Post by: Guitarmoto on July 13, 2021, 09:18:53 PM I will check that out... My phone died as well so couldn't see this post. AAA did come and it's in my driveway now. I'll check it out.
It's also having a hard time firing up. It will turn over and turn over and turn over but won't really catch and start firing up. After I drive it for a while it chokes out and die and won't start. If it sits for 15-20 minutes sometimes I can get it fired up again. I killed the battery trying all this so I'll have to do a few things now it's at home I will never forget my experience at 18 of taking my Yami 360 Enduro in to a dealer for service/tune/tires. Cobra pipes Post by: Avanti on July 13, 2021, 09:31:42 PM If you run the battery to low it will turn over but it won’t start. Not enough voltage to turn it over and run the ignition system at the same time. Charge the battery.

I need my baby up and running. Was 2 and half weeks in the shop because waiting on parts took so long just air filter and tires. I just want to ride!

Lots of people never shut it off, since in theory, without vacuum, it's "off". The shop may have, especially if they are familiar with Valks and know about the potential hydrolock condition.
Not trying to be a jerk. I just don't know if riding one block would kill it if the vent couldn't vent. At least worth a look if you haven't already. Title: Re: I'm currently sitting on curb waiting for tow truck... Cobra pipes Post by: Guitarmoto on July 16, 2021, 08:49:34 PM Good news! All is well. I had the shop come to my house and put my bike on a trailer to bring it back to the shop. I paid them plenty of money to expect to have a working bike returned to me. I have a feeling it was something obvious and stupid because I got the bike back anf the mechanic didn't say what the problem was. It was literally the following morning and it was good to go. Purring like a large, beastly kitten.
