Title: Bear Cubs in Petersham, MA Post by: Tony C. on August 01, 2022, 01:08:15 PM For the first time in my life, I saw black bear in the wild today. I was heading west on route 122 in Petersham, west of the 32 north junction and east of the New Salem line. My speed was about 5 mph above the limit. As I looked down the road I saw black shapes on the eastbound shoulder. As I got closer I saw three bear cubs begin to cross 122. I didn't see the mama-bear. I slowed down and gave them plenty of room so that could cross safely. It kinda made my day. Don't see black bear we're I live. :cooldude:

We have had them in our trees, just off the lawns..... Title: Re: Bear Cubs in Petersham, MA Post by: Tony C. on August 02, 2022, 08:16:51 AM Bear sitings in my area are rare. So it was a novelty for me to see three cubs scurrying across the road. ;)

So it was a novelty for me to see three cubs scurrying across the road. ;) I have always enjoyed watching black bears Tony, especially from a safe distance. Once they become comfortable in an area, expect to have more sightings..... |
