Title: 228 miles today Post by: f6john on November 04, 2022, 03:06:00 PM Once again the weather was perfect for me to take off on the bike for another ride to nowhere. I rode all around in the Daniel Boone National Forest. I was surrounded by trees and bluffs on both sides of the road almost every where I went. A wide variety of road conditions, mostly all good surfaces, a lot of elevation changes and quite a few sections of twisties. For the most part traffic was light but I did get behind a mini van that messed up about 20 miles of the twisties. I doubt I would have hit them a lot harder but would have wound out the bike a little more going from one section to the next but I didn’t try to go around them either as I was just soaking up the sunshine a comfortable temps.
If you ever find yourself lost and/or in the vicinity of Hazard and Jackson Kentucky I can highly recommend the roads from Jackson to Beatyville and on to Irvine which puts me about 20 miles from home at the end. Title: Re: 228 miles today Post by: 3fan4life on November 04, 2022, 04:11:20 PM I rode some of that during this years Hillbilly Highways Ride.
I really enjoyed that part of KY. We'll be back in the same area next year, I'll definitely have to explore a little more of KY. Title: Re: 228 miles today Post by: carolinarider09 on November 04, 2022, 04:32:07 PM We have found lots of fun roads in Kentucky. Will go back again.

Kentucky has some nice roads for sure Title: Re: 228 miles today Post by: Avanti on November 04, 2022, 07:18:19 PM We road across 10 states this year all on country back roads. Spent several days in Kentucky and it was one of our favorites with all the fall color changes.
Title: Re: 228 miles today Post by: Rams on November 06, 2022, 04:51:38 PM Twas a beautiful day today so I decided to take a break as nursemaid to my wife (recovering from shoulder replacement surgery) and go for a ride. Can't be gone too long, she needs help (a bunch).
Got on the Fat Lady cruiser (two wheeler) and rode about 50 miles, I know, not much but I don't want to be too far from home. Rode back into garage and parked her. All the time looking at that Fat Lady trike as I passed by. Oh well. Walked into the house, she's asleep in the recliner. Hmmm. Got on the trike and rode the reverse route and back home. The wife was awakened by my arrival. She asked how the ride was, I told her it was just the therapy I needed. ;) Rams Title: Re: 228 miles today Post by: Jess from VA on November 07, 2022, 07:00:47 AM My 93yo mom just got a new left shoulder last week.
She is in rehab and doing great. Her surgeon told her he has done hundreds of shoulders, and hers was more torn up than any he had ever seen or done. She didn't ask him how many other 93yo's he'd done. ;D |
