Title: Was Gonna Be a Great Day To Ride.... Post by: DIGGER on March 02, 2024, 09:10:28 AM For 3 days now todays weather forcast has been great. Beautifull sunshine day getting up into the high 70's range. Got up ....got dressed....drug the Valkyrie out.... and started out into the beautiful countryside around Brenham Tx area. Love the rolling landscape out there. Planning on doing about 300 miles zig zagging around the country side. Gonna stop at my favorite breakfast place and eat a big breakfast while socializing with the other bikers that eat breakfast there on weekends. Gonna be a beautifull...perfect...riding day. Pulled into the breakfast place in Bellville Tx and getting off my bike................I discover I have left my wallet at home. No ID....no insurance card..... no credit card....no debit card......and NO MONEY!!!!!! Good side is I have enough gas to drive the 60 miles home.........,DANG IT!!!!!!!
On the way home I try to calm down and decide that God is protecting me today. I said a prayer when I left my house this morning asking God to protect me on my ride today. I think satan had bad plans for me today and God detoured me away from satans trap...... Thank you Lord. Pulled into my driveway on fumes and my wife says "oh....I'm soooo glad you came home early....I need you to.........". Here we go...... Title: Re: Was Gonna Be a Great Day To Ride.... Post by: old2soon on March 02, 2024, 10:12:54 AM Years ago I wuz READY fer a RIDE. Now mind you I had Ridden the day before and Phatt Ghurl was Top Shelf when I rolled her into her cave. The Only item I had Not put on was my skid lid-I'd do that when I left my driveway. She fired right up let er smooth out a bit snicked into first an eased out the clutch and She QUIT! W T F Over? Further inspection found the rear brake locked up! Took off ridin gear put er on the lift and with difficulty pulled the rear brake caliper! Pistons were crudded up. 2 days later got a RIDE IN. After Much deliberation Bro and I figured I was NOT Supposed to ride the day the rear brake locked up! Much like you Thank You GOD! One MUST heed the Warnings you get! Not JUST the warnings ya git bout keepin the weapons clean and READY! RIDE SAFE.

My life is one of routine; whenever I'm going out (even for my walk), the things for my pockets (4 things) are laid out on the dryer next to the door I leave by. And I always wear pants, so there's something to put them in. Title: Re: Was Gonna Be a Great Day To Ride.... Post by: f6john on March 02, 2024, 01:00:44 PM The story of my life! I like your attitude, life is full of close calls, today could have just too close.
Title: Re: Was Gonna Be a Great Day To Ride.... Post by: Thunderbolt on March 03, 2024, 04:05:53 AM I found myself in a similar situation re the wallet left at home years ago. Not long after that I was shopping for a new belt and ran across one that has a hidden compartment underneath a small zipper on the back. Problem solved. If I remember to put on my pants and belt I am no longer penniless.

Now, if only I remember it's there, I'll be good. Title: Re: Was Gonna Be a Great Day To Ride....
