Title: Found a hidden Valk rider
Post by: SgtBunny on March 16, 2009, 08:37:51 AM
Emailed an old friend from back home and told him he needed to get a bike so he could ride with me in June when I come in.  He told me he already had a bike so I emailed him a pic of mine and asked him if he could keep up.  He emailed me back laughing and said if his Valk that has been setting for 2 years will start he will try.

Wahoo...I never knew he had a Valk.  I just found me another rider in northern WV.  I guess I should have helped him move so I would have known.

Good to hear. Now you have more in common then you knew. Get him on the site and you can keep in touch more often.

Title: I love helping people move

At times it feels like all I do some months is spend my weekends moving people. 1) I have a truck. 2) I know how to load a truck fairly efficently. 3) My PawPaw 'kept' one of those nice sets of u-haul handtrucks back in the 70s and they still work great for moving appliances (his actions are not condoned, but do come in handy occasionally).

I don't mind helping people move. I get to see their things! I'm fairly nosey and like seeing my friends things. I remember one time a buddy's wife was thanking me for all the trouble I went through helping them move time after time, and I replied, "that's okay, I always learn something everytime," as I handed her her underwear drawer.

I do occasionally try to convince my friends to part with things as they move. Almost picked up a motorcycle cheap that way, but then his brother showed up...dang it! That is how I got my first tent, which only needed a little duct tape and it was ready to camp for several more years.
