Title: Anyone wrapped their exhaust? Post by: upjeeper on July 17, 2010, 10:03:40 AM My bike has a salvage title and because of which will never be a show bike. I'm trying to clean it up some, but within a reasonable $$.
My chrome exhaust shrouds have both had the hold down clips rust off. I really can't justify the $150-200 for truck stacks, so I'm debating wrapping with fiberglass. Has anyone got pictures what it looks like? I don't want to do it only to find out it looks bad. Thanks Title: Re: Anyone wrapped their exhaust? Post by: CajunRider on July 17, 2010, 11:36:39 AM I wondered several times what it would look like, but never found a picture.
I'm not looking to wrap mine, but I'm very interested to see how they would look. One thing I DID see was a GL1100 wing with wrapped headers... only 4 to wrap, but looked pretty cool. of course, there's no way I'd be able to find the picture again. Alternatively what about some large diameter stainless steel, what we call jubilee clips not sure what you guys call them, like petrol pipe worm drive clips and polish them? You could get them big enough at any marine supplier, it was what I intended to do until I found a good set of s/h exhausts at the right price.
