Title: Hot Springs , North Carolina Post by: Smokinjoe-VRCCDS#0005 on August 01, 2010, 07:18:29 PM We had 4 bikes and a trike leave the hood this morning for a ride to Hot Springs. We had a great ride and got to take a short ride across Hwy.209 with Normandog and Carolina Girl for lunch. The Harley trike that was with us belongs to Al a guy from New Mexico who is doing some work in Oak Ridge,Tennessee.He was having a problem with the exhaust falling off it a couple times.

Needs the right nuts put back on it , which we did. The lower back stud will need to be rethreaded with a die to make it right. Someone had forced course thread nuts of the same size onto the fine thread studs. The front ones were fine and one of the rear ones was perfect, you don't see many fine thread bolts on a manifold, but fine SAE Threads are stronger than course. He also needs to look into a bracket to strengthen his long pipes out the back of that trike. Most Harley's except for mine have thier manifold bolts come loose as hard as we ride anyway. Kind of a testing ground. Until next time , keep her pointed into the wind and let the bolts fall where they may.
