Title: Horn problem Post by: jonmako on August 02, 2010, 07:26:45 PM I read 12.6 volts at my battery and 11.86 volts at my horn wires and the horn will not work. The horn terminals ring so I believe the horn is good. I did run two wires fromthe battery to the horn and it did not work. Just a bad horn? Any help would be appreciated. 1998 Valk std - original owner.
Title: Re: Horn problem Post by: sandy on August 02, 2010, 07:34:40 PM If you have a stock horn, it's just a vibrating reed inside. They can corrode and get stuck. Ask here and somebody will have one laying around.

Title: Re: Horn problem Post by: alph on August 02, 2010, 10:50:06 PM Perfect excuse to get a couple of REAL horns lit off from a relay... time to sound like an old Buick when you hit that button. exactly what I did, paid $5 at a junk yard, pulled it out of an old chevy van!! you can get two sets and bolt them underneath were your kick stand hides. you'll need to wire in a relay. use the original wires to activate the relay, then use the contacts of the relay to power the horns. they're much nicer sounding, my daughters 50cc scooter has the same horn as a stock valk horn!!
