Title: Valkyrie Trim Level Post by: rmrc51 on March 26, 2009, 03:22:42 AM On the lighter side. :)
I've seen a few posts here and there where a person might refer to their Valk as a Standard that's now a Tourer. :coolsmiley: Just wondering at what point, after adding accessories and options, can one claim that their dragon has a new title. (i've been adding so much crap that she has to be at least 100 pounds heavier now. talk about a FAT LADY :o ;D) Just a lite hearted question to start the day off. Title: Re: Valkyrie Trim Level Post by: dreamaker on March 26, 2009, 03:44:06 AM Does it matter!!! Call it chicken lips if you want. That is your lady, enjoy her, don't worry what people think. Clim on her and make her scream for mercy.

Naked bike = Standard. Hard Bags and Bug Smasher = Tour. When I added the Interstate Trunk, and the Hoppe Fairing, Like Smokin' Joe, I started calling it a 'Psuedo State' ;)
Best part is that the Fairing, Trunk, and rear seat, all come off and I've got a good ol' Hardly Hunter, for runnin around town :cooldude: Black Dog (http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb22/MityDawg/Bikefairingtrunk1.jpg) (http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb22/MityDawg/Here_pig.jpg) Title: Re: Valkyrie Trim Level Post by: BigAlOfMD on March 26, 2009, 08:46:38 AM I would think that it would "upgrade" if all the parts were oem. So if I bought a factory "Valkyrie Tourer" and replaced the OEM shields and bags with after market, is it no longer a "Valkyrie Tourer"? If I add OEM bags and shield to a factory "Standard" it is still a standard with bags and shield wether they are OEM or not. Title: Re: Valkyrie Trim Level Post by: Black Dog on March 26, 2009, 08:58:33 AM I know that for insurance purposes, Once a Standard, always a Standard... It goes by VIN.
I carry extra accessory insurance for all my add ons. Black Dog Title: Re: Valkyrie Trim Level Post by: Jean the Black Wolf on March 26, 2009, 09:10:53 AM I think it will always be "almost finished"
Started life in 1996 as a Standard and in 1999 I added the saddlebags in 2000 the hoppe fairing and Corbin seat, in 2003 the trunk and last year the fairing IS in the futur maybe pods and fog light ;) ;) ;) (http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_19049/9607-5.jpg) (http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_18762/Jean4.jpg) (http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_22585/disc1.JPG) (http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_18762/jean%20the%20Black%20Wolf.jpg) (http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_19049/DSCN3826.JPG) (http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_19049/Jean.jpg) (http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_27143/valkJean2.jpg) CHEERS BROS (http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_22559/00jean.jpg) Title: Re: Valkyrie Trim Level Post by: Duffy on March 26, 2009, 02:29:21 PM I think if you add a "bug smasher" (love that term) and hard bags, you have a tourer. Add the Trunk/back seat rest and a fairing, now you are approaching an interstate. :-\
But, in the end, who cares, call it what you like - unless you are trying to sell it or insure it, then the vin # rules. :coolsmiley: Mine's a Standard. :cooldude: (http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_23642/Copy%20of%20Killboy.jpg) |
