Title: Valkyrie Interstate right rear speaker does not work.
Post by: Six Guns on September 03, 2010, 04:06:54 PM
For those of you that have a Valkyrie Interstate or may know how I should troubleshoot, please feel free to chime in. I took the right rear pod off that holds the right rear speaker thinking that I had a disconnected or loose wire, but I found a tight connection to the speaker. I don't want to replace the speaker if the problems lies elsewhere. Has anyone had a problem with their Interstate speakers that could possibly point me in the right direction. I have a voltmeter, but am not familiar with the Interstate radio wiring. The left rear speaker works fine. If I put the voltmeter on the wires to the speaker, what should I be seeing on the meter to see if power is getting to the speaker? TIA      :)

A quick and easy check would be connect the left speaker to the right leads and see if it makes sound.

Hmmm.  I'm not sure how to 'see' if it makes sound?

I'll try the easy stuff first. I'll take the rear left speaker as was suggested Houdini and hook it to the wires going to the right rear speaker and see if it works. That will tell me if it's the wiring or the speaker. If it's the speaker, then I'll get me some new rear speakers. I found some marine grade speakers on the internet that are a direct fit for the Interstate for about $49.00 with free shipping. I'll let everyone know what I find.
