I installed Cycle House 4 1/4 inch pullback risers sold at Direct Line Parts

....and the throttle cables ended up way too tight. I re-routed the cables around the outside of the right fork to gain some slack. The problem now is that there's too much cable. In this configuration, with the handlebar at a full swing RIGHT, the right fork pushes against the cable and the cable makes a switch back turn into the right side neck cover. I probably won't be making too many turns that require the handlebar at a full swing right, but was there some other way to re-route the throttle cables to avoid getting a sharp radius in the cables. I didn't buy the La Monsters 4-inch riser because I wanted to retain the OEM riser clamp. And has anybody ordered longer throttle cables? I'm guessing 4-inches longer, but would 2-inches longer be more ideal from personal experience.

Just a thought.  You may be able to remove the electrical cable holder and stick them in there with them. 

If you change to the Interstate throttle housing you won't have to reroute the cables

What if you have an IS and want taller risers?

I'll look into that. I was even thinking of drilling a hole in the neck cover to tuck the cable out off the way of the swing of the fork, but so much for a 20-minute mod.

You must mean because the cables enter at the top of the throttle housing for the Interstate. I don't have an Interstate that I can look at. However, I'm wary of the different electrical connectors shown in the OEM diagrams. Plus the $80 cost.

I responded earlier.. For some reason it didn't take..  I installed LaMonts risers and didn't like the way the cables had to be re-routed.. 2" longer cables made things all better..

thanks the same. I passed on the La Monster because I prefer the look of the OEM riser clamp, which won't fit on the La Monster. Even purchased a chrome clamp. 2-inches it shall be.

The electricals are separate from the housing, you should be able to just transfer everything from your current housing to the IS housing with no problems. As for addressing your length issue, I have no idea if this would help.
