Title: levers for brake and clutch
Post by: shortleg on April 20, 2009, 06:11:16 PM
I am looking at the adjustable levers for the goldwing .
Are the ones I need for the 1500 or the 1800?

Well, do the adjustable GL1800 levers properly center on the brake master cylinder piston?  The 1500 levers from Kury did not fit too well but Kury has a different part # for the 1500 and the 1800.  Tho I have an 1800, I have not tried the adjustable stock 1800 levers on my Valkyrie.  I assume that stick knows what he's talking about but just for safety's sake, here's the Kury chrome 1500 levers (7430) and why they don't really work on the Valkyrie or VTX.

Shortleg,

The levers in the link above work perfectly. All you have to do is grind off the tab on the clutch lever shown in the picture. I just installed a set two weeks ago with no issues at all.

I installed last year and love them. Set on #5 and have a very short throw which works great for me, small hands.  :cooldude:

1800.

These are the ones that I have and they are great!  http://www.wingstuff.com/pgroup_detail.php?pgroupid=2277&categoryid= (http://www.wingstuff.com/pgroup_detail.php?pgroupid=2277&categoryid=)

I have had no wear on the MC plunger.

Don't forget to cut off the tab on the clutch lever.

I thought I wanted the adjustable levers too.  However, I got a deal I couldnt pass up at the  Honda shop today.  Its a chrome set of the spoon type GL 1800 wide handles....non adjustable but because of the shape they do adjust the feel right where I would have put it had I had adjustables.  I am very happly with these and they were dirt cheap
