Title: TENNESSEE STATE RIDE-IN.
Post by: Crazyhorse on May 09, 2009, 11:59:03 AM
May 30th at Fall Creek Falls State Park we will meet for our first State Ride-In (that I'm aware of). This first gathering will be simple and to the point: gather at the Lodge around 12:00 eastern time and have lunch. Spend time in the afternoon talking bikes, rides and whatever, then head back to the house. This is not just for Tennessee riders anyone is welcome. We would like to get feedback from those who think they can make it.

Sounds like a nice ride and some good fun. Are there any hotels/motels around the area.

Cookeville has every brand name motel known to man and twice that many restaurants.

Well, looks like ANOTHER one I'll miss!! :tickedoff: That weekend is one of my
definite work days. Gotta pay the bills somehow. One of these days I'm actually
gonna show up at one of these shindigs and nobody's even gonna know who I am!! ;D

The Lodge is very nice, room's run about $79.00. If you are looking for something less expensive you might have to check out Joe's recommendation.

LOL, it's kinda sad but I'm almost getting used to it! Guess I shouldn't complain about
having a job, though. Someday when I'm rich and famous I'll foot the bill for a bunch
of these ride-ins. :cooldude:

Come on you Tennessee Valkyrie Riders (and close surrounding areas)...where are you guys?!  We have two weeks before our Fall Creek Falls ride-in and we would like to hear from a few more of you that hope to make it.  Put the "honey-do's on hold", put down the remote control and record that episode of Oprah (your right....that was uncalled for...sorry)!

To borrow Smokin' Joe's slogan...."Bring it, lets ride".

Well, here in Johnson City TN it's mainly medical jobs. There's usually a few other jobs here
and there, but also several people looking for jobs! Zackly what kinda shop are you going
to open?

I have my own small repair/service shop for bikes here now. When I find that bit of land to move to, I want to expand and do alot more. my engine room is small now, I only have 2 lifts. maybe a nice little poll barn? lol  Just want outa the rat race.

Of course, I could open a auto and light truck repair shop next door and keep the bikes as my relaxation hobby...:D

Hmmm.. Tennessee, that's just north of Georgia, right?  ;D

OK, I was gone four days last weekend for Britmans ride and I haven't run it by the wife yet, but it sounds like fun to me.  8)

Maybe I'll make it up to the Volunteer State for that. Hope so anyway.  :cooldude:

Let me see what the little women has to say about it.  :-\  :coolsmiley:

Just made my reservation at the Inn for Friday and Saturday night. Gonna do a halfer from work Friday morning and leave at 10:00am. Thinking about heading out Hwy 64 from Memphis to avoid the slabs - anybody have any opinions or advice about that route? Is anybody else from west Tn. going? Looks like great weather all weekend - can't wait.

Turns out I can't make this ride or the annual Ride for Memphis (http://www.memphislynnlafferty.com/ride2009.pdf (http://www.memphislynnlafferty.com/ride2009.pdf)) this Saturday.

I will be at the Neighbor Day at Peachtree Dekalb Airport promoting 123college.com with my business associate, Curt.  :cooldude:

Y'all ride safe and enjoy!  8)

There is a house about a mile from us that has 3 garages.  Noticed the other day that it's empty and figure that it will be up for sale soon.

VA isn't TN but I can tell you that a good, honest and reliable motorcycle mechanic is one thing that we DON'T have in this area.
