She was leading them around looking for a way out...I have NO idea how they got IN!? 9 ducklings and mom. I opened the gate...eventually she'll lead them out and go find her pond. Prior to that she was leading them around the yard looking for a way out...all in a row. We're a couple miles from the nearest water...and in heavily suburban neighborhood...so it's kind of unusual for us to find ducklings.
