I need some opinion on why I'm getting coolant discharging from my radiator cap.I did change coolant and thought I burped the air properly.What's confusing is I can ride up and over a 4000 ft summit nearby without a drop and when I think all is well, I get coolant discharging up to 30 minutes after starting ride.New radiator cap and can see the coolant circulating.The fan seems to be coming on as it is supposed to.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did I understand correctly that you changed the radiator cap?

If so, take a pair of pliers and squeeze the tabs a little closer to the cap.  The ones that hook onto the radiator.  Sounds like you have a poor seal.....

OH, 1 other question, did you take the set screw out of the old cap before you removed it?

I'd go get a stock Valkyrie radiator cap.  Can't improve on mother nature!

Make sure the opening to the radiator is smooth and level. I had the same trouble your having. Take the cap off and stick a paper towel in the top to keep metal shavings out. Take fine sand paper on a small block of 2x4 and sort of plane the top. After a few sweeps you can examine the top and see if it is a flush surface on the rim. If you find major discrepancies, you can actually gently bend the rim carefully it is pretty soft. If it's minor, sanding can correct it. GL   8)

i had same problem. check the plane on rad. filler neck mine wasnt true , a light hammer and sand paper fixed the problem. the oe rad cap helped too.

Thanks for the suggestions.When I first got the bike, I had a similar problem and found particulate lodged in the rubber seal.I've checked that.I'll try the sandpaper and tightening the tabs a little bit and yes,I did put the screw back in after not putting the screw back in but it still leaked.

Also don't over tighten that screw, it can skew the cap a bit if you do  8)

Imho, the screw is not necessary for the seal. It´s only theft protection......
