I moved from Marshall to Allen 14 years ago but back then Bodacious BBQ was the best place in town to eat, IMHO.

The OS Square Restaurant and Pub across from the courthouse in downtown Marshall is good.  Denzel Washington frequented the place when he was filiming the The Great Debaters  (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0427309/) in Marshall.

Thanks for the ideas. Ended up eating at the Riverbend right on Caddo Lake. Good food, great view, but Dallas prices. Also ate at the Texas Tearoom in Quitman - good southern food with no relationship to a tearoom (thankfully).
