I served under #4 in 1971, it was known that his eldest, #5 was mentally incompetent/retarded (yeah, I know it's a bad description, but is what was used back then) and would never be military. #4 was the end of the Generals George S Patton. Officers of his caliber are missed.
BTW, #4 was a soldiers general, always had time to converse with the enlisted. I was told that his G'grandfather was an officer in the CSA during the civil war. He is a living historian portraying General Patton. ( I believe the others are no longer around?? ) ??? Title: Re: Ride to Tomball Sunday the 25th... Post by: keepinon on May 13, 2014, 05:59:31 PM Yes, all the officers are gone now. I believe there was a younger brother to #5, was writing a history of the Generals, but I haven't seen it. Guess I should check Amazon.
