WHAT ABOUT ALL the people they have come into contact with DURING THOSE 21 days. IDIOTS.

Shouldn't the PRIMARY contacts be put into quarantine IMMEDIATELY???

I'm not worried, I don't plan on sharing body fluids with any of them.

I am with you,,, this stuff is scary.... 

I heard a radio show that said they are predicting over a million cases in Africa over the next 12 months.

there are 100's of international flights daily, to and from Africa from the U S.

#1 Stop those flights immediately.

In addition in my estimation there needs to be two islands, or isolated areas away from
civilization.

Island 1 for those that have ebola, (set up hospitals to give medical assistance)

Island 2 for any family or people that have been in contact with person that has ebola.
Monitor them, and send to island one if needed.

right now we have drugs that can help,  but will we have enough drugs if there are thousands and thousands of cases?

Isolation,,,, Isolation,,, Islolation.

The hospital that the guy is at is literally 10 miles from my house.

And I'm not the slightest bit worried about it.

West Nile? Yeah, that I'm worried about. Chikungunya? That one concerns me. Enterovirus D68? Yup, concerned about that one too...

Ebola? Not so much...

Those other ones can spread via casual contact. Ebola takes mucking about with someone's bodily fluids.

Now, having said all that, if I'm in the store and see someone puking, or oozing pus out of their skin or having diarrhea on the floor, I'll get the hell out of there. I'm not worried, but I'm not stupid either.

But there are far FAR more worrying things going on in the world than Ebola, at least for those of us in the Western world...

If confirmed I'll BET this person didn't PLAN on getting Ebola!!!

Can you get Ebola on an airplane?

Duncan lied when leaving Liberia (his home) about his having been in physical contact with Ebola. He was infected whilst being on the plane. If he sneezed........??? was he infectious?

How does your medical mouthpiece respond to that?

African countries do not have the same level of airport security as we do. And ours can be pretty pathetic at times.

Yep, since the Ebola pandemic hyped by CNN and FOX didn't pan out I'm hoping the non-Texans can remove their surgical masks, unbolt their doors, step out into the sunshine and greet their neighbors.  Maybe cutting back on watching the faux news stations a little wouldn't hurt any either.   :2funny:

a few more days, and the Dallas pandemic will have run its course.
 Hopefully the few remaining survivors will get out of their bunkers and vote.

Fox News is all I watch.   :cooldude:  I don't trust the other news networks to tell  me the truth.    :-\

Dallas is declared Ebola-free after all additional known exposed parties passed through the incubation period without contracting the disease and what we hear is...

...silence from alarmists, both professional and amateur.

I think it is great news.

As do I. 

I think that the CDC completely botched this one.  While they communicated the facts of the disease accurately, their methodologies for containment were laughable -- in a gallows humor sort of way.  Frankly, I expected a few more cases to develop.

My belief all along was that the spread (or prevention) of this disease and its fatality rate would differ greatly in first-world countries than the data from third-world countries indicated.  And yet, everyone, including the WHO, extrapolated wildly from the third-world data and applied the results to the US and other modern countries.

As a nation, we've apparently lost our ability to think critically and I believe this is rooted in the fact that, as a nation, we are largely ignorant of basic science, medicine, math, logic, ethics, statistics, governing law, economics, religion (Christian and otherwise,) the Constitution -- you name it.  Ergo, our national mental immune system is compromised and susceptible to the diseases of alarmism, false logic, and hyperbolic rhetoric as spread by the primary carriers of these maladies, the general media, talk radio, and the government.

You put too little faith in the average TV/reality/sport/24 hour news watchers.  :D

Which is only eclipsed by my lack of faith in those in the general media, talk radio, and the government who are developing and delivering the content.

I knew that, but recently came down with a mild case of rantism, which I probably contracted during  a recent Dart ride amongst the unwashed.  All those icky handrails and such.
