Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club

I ride a 1999 Valkyrie and really would like to buy a new bike but haven't found anything that grabs me, but I went to the local Honda dealer and they dropped the Valkyrie price to $11,999.00 now I'm thinking of getting one, how do you guys really like them? I know all about the power but on long rides with no bags, what do you do bungee a bag down or do any of you guys pull a trailer? Are any of you guys sorry you got that model?

I was real sorry I had mine.

Until I changed the handlebars, the seat and added saddlebags...

The handlebars are hard to change, its not a money thing...

The price of the bags and seat are offset by the bargain
prices that new Valkyries are going for now...

I like my old Valkyrie, and before I fixed the handlebars on the new one, I sure was
glad I still had it... be careful about getting rid of the old one before
you are satisfied with the new one...

As I was signing the papers today for my F6b, right in my line of sight from the table I was sitting at was a new black Valk. It sure was pretty. I really like the looks of the new ones!

I wasn't going to buy one till I knew what bags were available and so when I purchased the bike I ordered a set of Corbin's bags and a seat. But since they have not arrived I purchased a multi use bag and strapped it down to the back seat with the side rails. Have over a thousand miles on mine and have owned it less than a month and I love it. Took a few hour ride down to Miami beach today in traffic out of traffic, hwy and I have no complaints at all. Does everything well, maneuvering is easy in traffic and has no problem on the highways. I like the fact that its easy to judge cars and clearances around you with out the fairings on it and handles more like a sport bike. At idle in these 90 temps here I was wondering about the fans on the radiators not cooling well since they didn't seem to be pulling a lot of air out the sides of the cowls. I learned a interesting thing when the radiator fans come on they vent forward so as not to cook the rider. Great engineering Honda and thanks for thinking of the details.  :cooldude: The Brakes are very good and are larger than either the Goldwing or F6B and something else is nice, deaccel on the hwy is usually fast enough without applying the brakes to get you out of most problems. When you let your hand off the throttle you slow down rather quickly. I like that especially in traffic or going into a turn or exiting the hwy doesn't require much effort or thought as far as braking.  Most have been deeply discounted and so with the Corbin bags and seat and factory windshield I am still cheaper at roughly 14999.00 than either a Goldwing or a F6B. 
  I am very happy with my purchase and glad I did not get the F6B but waited for the Valk it was hard though.  :cooldude:

I bought mine last september after years with BMWs. I never liked the GW 1800 (too fat for my size, not as sharp as my german stuff etc.) but I rode the F6B and was happily surprised by the loss of weight. I then rode the F6c and that was it !  ;D

I have now 20 000 km on the clock, I went to Spain last week (12 hour ride from Paris in one shot and then back the same way), had to change the front brake pads and the front tire before the trip (the bike had 16 000 km on the clock).
I have permanently a Givi trunk and I bungee a bag across the passenger seat if necessary. I won't ever have the Corbin bags though they look nice but they are really expensive and cumbersome in the parisian trafic.

I rode the new BMW S1000 XR ( :cooldude: :crazy2: :evil:), really amazing but $ 19,000.00, rode the new Ducati MS 1200 DVT because I loved it a few years ago (now $ 20,000.00) and what I mean is : for $12,000.00, I don't know any bike who could match  8)
