Title: Pinstripes
Post by: Bobvalk on December 25, 2016, 02:03:26 PM
Just been looking at my 2014 Black front fender. It's crying out or some type of pin striping. If anyone has pics of a striped fender, please post. Need some ideas.

Google pics of Ducati Monster, a few years back they had Racing stripes with a look similar to 60's muscle cars, wide strip down the middle.

I've been toying with the idea of pin stripes or racing stripes down the sides of the fenders that follow through the sides of the radiator cowls, down the tank, and finish off the sides of the rear fender. There is a visible line that follows when you look for it on the side of the bike.

Try www.twistedchrome.com (http://www.twistedchrome.com).   They have numerous stick on pinstripes available.   I've had them on my bike for over a year and they stay put.   I went with a silver/black combo on my blue bike.  One on each fender and one on the tank.   I would provide pics but I gave up trying to post pics a long time ago.

That is an awesome idea.  :cooldude:

I think I would like a matte black stripe right down the centre of the fender - tank - rear fender.  I will have to look for someone to do that for me so that ut will look straight.

Update:
I found someone who sells 3" stripping in matte black.  It is cheap, so maybe I will try it.  :D  I would prefer perforated striping, so that I don't get bubbles.

Found a better choice than matte black pinstripes for my bike.

I decided to go with black carbon fiber racing stripes.  If it looks good, I will post a pick.  If it looks cheezy then it never happened.   :2funny:

here is the link to where I bought it:

I've been pondering shelling out the money for EL paint for stripes. It would be stupid expensive but sickening to look at.

I believe prices are about $5k for a half gallon of materials... my wife would murder me slowly if I commit to trying it out.

Your idea sounds like a much higher rate of survival.

But a 1/4 gallon would be more than enough, there, I just saved you $2500 and 1 nut...

1.5 years ago , I seen a car in Tempe Az area that was painted gold , I mean it was very shiny gold, like mylar , looked beautiful
The problem is , would be too reflective for a bike like ours , it looked amazing , though
