Title: Life throws some curve balls some time Post by: dalai-lama on October 05, 2017, 05:15:34 AM Got a call on Tuesday night while at work from Trudy that there was water coming through the family room ceiling and the bathroom upstairs had water on the wall and floor. Seems the toilet supply line decided it was done and decided to leak all over the place.
So for the next series of days I am doing major repairs on walls, floors, piping, and ceilings. Oh I love soldering new pipe when the dam builders decide not to run the pipe through the center of a 2x6 but rather about an inch from the other wall. Makes not burning down the house much more challenging. Decided to wait for today when I would be fresh and it would be light out before attempting that. Ugh... glad it is not winter time... -Mike Title: Re: Life throws some curve balls some time Post by: Tony C. on October 05, 2017, 05:27:56 AM Sorry to hear Brett. Hang in there.
Title: Re: Life throws some curve balls some time Post by: Jess from VA on October 05, 2017, 07:07:56 AM Personal residences, a big part of the American dream..... and sooner or later, a big part of your personal nightmare. :crazy2: :tickedoff:
Soon after bringing my foreign wife to the US and military base housing, I get a screaming phone call, the water hose from the washer is spraying water all over the house..... OK, turn the washer off, and put the hose back in the pipe. What pipe? I'm on my way dear. Fast forward to another house. The original owner (or builder) decided hooking the ground wire to every light socket in the house was too much work or a waste of time. Forward to this Spring..... I'm eating a sandwich watching TV, and Mr Jingles and five of his friends are hungry and want me to share. WTF????!!!!! This is probably a great idea for a continuing (humor) thread. It's not funny at the time, but it is later. Treated public works water is Ph balanced and easier on copper tubing..... PEX tubing saves time and is user friendly....
