Hey Sixguns , me and Lisa are planning on going to the Inzane and wondering who all was going from DFW ..... We will be in FT.Worth on either fri. the 17th or sat. the 18th for my little sisters graduation on sunday 19th  ...... then we planned on hitting the road that monday morning for Colorado ..... it would be nice and safer to ride up with some VRCC members to Colorado in a group ..... let me know when you are planning on leaving and do you know of any cheap motels on the way up there ?  Thanks Old Geezer Richard

Hello Six Guns...I'm kinda new here, and have not yet registered at the Inzane site, but I'm planning on going.  I live way over here in east Texas, was planning on going up through Ft.Worth, then maybe running some of the two-lanes towards Amarillo (try to stay off 287) then Raton, NM up to Walsenburg, CO, then CO 69 to Salida and on up to Frisco.  Nothing set in concrete however, just looking for something more interesting than miles and miles of 4-lane.  I'll probably leave here late Tuesday or early AM Wednesday, planning on getting into Frisco late Friday.  I'll probably stay in motels, but I'll have a bag and tent with me, just in case...

Hey Allber , are you planning on leaving home on july 14 the week before the Inzane or do you mean July 21 the week of the Inzane because it seems to me that leaving that day of the 21st does not leave you much time to do and see alot at the Inzane because everybody will leaving that sunday the 26th when its over ..... I'll looking to see who all is going from DFW so we can tag along and try to get to Frisco by wed afternoon way before dark ....

Last time I took that ride (without a serious detour, that is...), we left Wednesday AM, and got in well before dark Thursday.  Took a similar route to what you're suggesting.  Richard's right, though.  Arriving Friday late doesn't leave much time up there.  Most people are pulling out Sunday morning.

We'll be leaving no later than Monday the 20th, but hope to leave either Saturday or Sunday to allow for even more meandering on the way up.  Straight shot home.

Richard...I was planning on leaving here Wednesday the 22nd.  Wanted to spend Saturday and maybe a half-day Sunday in Frisco, then take off.  I'm planning on riding down through Gunnison, then Creede and on to Fort Sumner, NM, Brady, TX and home.  Riding to places I've been before, way back when, and want to visit again.  I have a home office and a week is about all I can manage to stay away...

Looks like it might be a last minute decision with my work on wheter I will be able to go to Colorado or not. If they let me go I will probably leave on that Monday the 20th and return on Sunday the 26th. Will have to make it a one day ride home on that Sunday because I will have to work on Monday the 27th.. It's all up in the air for now and I will post here when a decision is made.

Similiar boat here. Bright side is that the west Texas slog between Amarillo and Denton(ish) (we've done before) is MUCH nicer at night...less windy, no heat.

Wife wants to go driving my toyota truck behind me, so if I get to go I will be able to carry extra parts and gear in the truck and lessen the load on the bike. I made it the 840 miles back home in one day 3 years ago when we were in Frisco, so I don't really see that as a problem. Hope I get to go.         Cool
