Four wheels move the body, 2 wheels move the soul

Being new to the forum and new to owning a Valk I have a question.  Are there meetings that happen in East Texas or do we ride into Dallas and meet with DFW?

Hey Jim:

I've only been here since June myself. Congrats on the Valkyrie. Sorry I didn't get to see it when you were at Charles'
I don't think there's a reglar Valkyrie meeting east of Dallas. You're always welcome to head over to Texarkana for Bike Night with us.
Maybe if there's enough interest we could get something started over on this side of the state.

Being new to the forum and new to owning a Valk I have a question.  Are there meetings that happen in East Texas or do we ride into Dallas and meet with DFW?

The nearest chapter active is the DFW chapter and most of the meetings happen on the east side or northeast side of Dallas.  Last night's meeting was as close as we normally get to Van.  John and the other ET riders normally will join up with us when we have rides to the east, meeting at a point along the way.

However, if there were enough interest to do a meeting in east Texas, there is a Tyler chapter that is kinda' dormant you could revive and with John, perhaps start dinner meetings.  I'm sure some of us from DFW would drop in from time to time.

Send me an email or PM to discuss it.  We've recently had the central Texas chapter revived.  We can do the same with east Texas.
So, contact me, and we'll discuss strategies.

Sorry I have not responded earlier, I have been in Oklahoma all weekend doing carb work on my Valk with Budman.  We have the same problem in another group I belong to with getting East Texas active.  I would like to see something in this area but do not mind coming Dallas way.  Check your messages Rocketman, i sent my info.  It would be great to talk with you.  I just saw where there might be a wrench session 9/11 maybe we could talk there also.

We meet every Friday night at 7:00. I got a little board that we use to post notices about meetings.

Yeah, I live down in Houston.  It would be a rather early morning for me to get up to Dallas by 9 or whatever time ya'll are starting.
I'll catch you some time, though, Jam.  In the meantime, I'll be sending you an email sometime tonight.

Being new to the forum and new to owning a Valk I have a question.  Are there meetings that happen in East Texas or do we ride into Dallas and meet with DFW?

At last count, I have 9 Valks in and around the Greenville area, not counting Doc in Terrell and John in Tyler, or any of the guys in Texarkana.

I myself live in Kaufman and drive to Greenville daily for work, so its possible. We might get enough interest to have some meetings out toward Texarkana and get everyone involved. We are kind of scattered but a couple times a month for meetings and rides would be a nice way to have an excuse to put some miles on the Phat Lady.

Looking at the map, drawing a circle around all the East Texas towns that have known riders, it makes the center point  Mt. Pleasant, if everyone agrees, I could gather up the guys in Greenville and surrounding area and We could make in a Sunday Afternoon Lunch/Meeting and at least talk about it.

Any other East Texas riders jump in here and give your thoughts.

(I would volunteer to lead the first ride to Ham's Orchard !  I need some more peach icecream!)

We've got 5 Vaiks in the bikenight group, and another potential new member. I'll get the word out to them and see if there's any interest. Am I correct in thinking this would be a monthly meeting, or are you looking at weekly?

This night shift thing is really screwing with my communication.

First thing is to get a poll of who's in the area, and who's interested.  The member listings are a good place to start, but they are only updated when new people join.  People who have moved on are not deleted.  Once we determine where the people are, we can determine where the meetings should be.
Since all of the folks who have chimed in so far have been north-east Texas riders, I'll start a poll asking who is in the area, and where.  Of course, not everyone who would attend is on the board, so we'll take the poll with a grain of salt, but it's a good starting point.
