Was eating supper and looked out....it was pitch dark and only 6:00pm. Now what do I do for the rest of the evening? Already polished the bike this afternoon, maybe I can go over the chrome wheels a little better. The decent programs on TV don't start until 8:00....so here I sit. Maybe I can go work out, except that disrupts my exercise schedule.

I know....I'll get a chair and go outside and sit and look at my new $9k complete a/c & heat pump system I just had installed. The old one crapped out a week ago, the new one....holy @$&*($%^. Top of the line Lennox, works great, just have to figure out how I'm going to pay it and the car off next year.   Undecided

I refuse to change mine out in the garage, high on the wall.  PIA to change and rehang....  Grin

Bummer when it's dark so early, have to wait til April to do about anything outside during the work week.  Hate winter when it's dark going to and from work in the dark!  Hmmm, Alaska doesn't sound too bad.... 22hrs of daylight!

That's during the summer, it's 22 hours of dark during the winter!

I still prefer setting it back as opposed to setting it ahead...unless stuck at work on a nice day, then it seems that bumping it ahead aint such a bad idea!  Cheesy

Was eating supper and looked out....it was pitch dark and only 6:00pm.

Here, we live right near the far EASTERN side of the Central time zone....so for us.....it's dark by 5:00 PM now! i leave work about 430...head the 26 miles home...and BINGO...it's dark by the time i even get home (starting TODAY!). Yesterday i was watching football...and noticed it was dark in the third quarter of the afternoon game i was watching (at about 5:00).

but at least now when i go into work...it is light.

And it seems like EVERYTHING...has a clock on/in it now! i must have spent several hours changing clocks....clocks on ALL four bikes (one...built into the radio on Sherry's Valk...takes me 15 minutes to figure it out each time you have to change it!)...three vehicles...clocks in the  barn and garage.....the microwave, the oven, clocks in the living room, ham radio room, computers, bedroom, bathroom....and the list goes on and on and on.

For the weather radio, i literally had to make a pot of coffee (and pour a cup), unplug the radio and bring it to the kitchen table....spend 10 minutes looking for the owners manual...then sit down at the table and read the WHOLE manual to figure out how to change the clock (to include programming the darn thing). But on the bright side, now ALL the features of the weather radio are FINALLY programmed correctly!  it only took about 30 minutes and two cups of coffee Cheesy

ahhhhhhhhh....modern technology  Grin

I know RP, have a nephew in Phoenix. I believe parts of Indiana don't change to DST either...if memory serves.

I know... It's 6 pm and I'm nodding off. Haven't even finished my beer yet.. I think the "fall back" part of Daylight Savings Time makes me drink more...

A friend of mine left working for a major pipeline company in 1978 and came homesteading in Northern Alberta.  He threw his watch away then and has not worn one since.  Any time that you set a plan with him to do something later on he always guesses that the present day is Sunday and then just figures it out from there.  He has a good life, gets up when he wakes, eats when he is hungry and goes to bed when he is tired.

John, in regards to paying off the AC & car....just go out in the backyard and dig up one of those coffee cans of cash that you have buried....no problemo!  Smiley

Rainman, I hear that. I worked til age 66, been retired about six years now. There's a lot of things I do outside and it seems the entire world is geared to the daylight time. So, I have to find something to do after the sun goes down. It's about time for changing the fork oil, flushing the hydraulic lines, few other things....but what about when that's all done. Wonder if I can sneak another bike in the garage???
