Ok, I have a 99Tourer and want to install the Relay Mod for the Headlight/Start Sw...I am also installing the SignalBoss too...I have a question...Should I install the Relay Mod first and then hook up the SignalBoss?...This seems like the proper way for me...Now, should I use the 4 pin relay(85,86,87,30/51terminals) 0r the 5 pin(87a)...? Also,  what color wire should I connect to 86 and 87(is it the bl/w)?...and then just connect the R/Blk(Hot) wire to 30/51 terminal...Huh? and use 85 to Grnd...Huh?...These will be the original wires from the Headlight enclosure...I know after I get this working, I will install the SignalBoss...!!! I did the Mod when I had my 06 VTX 1800R, but I sold it and bought the Valkyrie and I just can't seem to get this simple Mod thru my head...am I going to find the same color wires in the Valkyrie Headlight as in the VTX 1800R Headlight?? Any help would put me at ease...Thanks...!!!

For the relay, open the link and scroll down the box labeled Start Switch Safeguard and follow the directions. It has the pin #'s, wire colors....the whole thing. Clear as can be.

I took a different route and got chromed controls and reservoirs in the process. I adapted HD controls to my Valk, with those controls you have separate buttons for turns signals. With that, I was able to install a module that gives me three different lengths of time for my turns, 4-ways, and brake interruption of the time out. And, if I want to cut the flash short, just click that button again and it goes off. Have had it on the bike for quite a few years now with nary a minute of trouble. Only challenge was creating a double relay setup to kill the headlight when starting, an easy job. And since I lost(thankfully) the lousy choke control on the left side, I created a better system for the choke and it has been solid since installed.
