is the current miles run on my Shinko SR777 WW in 140-80-17. It was mounted as was my A T T on the rear-with BBs as the balancing media. When I do get the new one mounted up front-Another Shinko SR777 WW in 140-80-17 I will have a good long look at the inside of the current one with 24 G on it. When I put her back in her cave after the ride this past Thursday I could Still hear the BBs rollin around in there. I'll attempt to report on how bad if they did at all-deteriorate-BBs or the inside of the tire. I'm just a tad curious as when I had balance beads I encountered dust on the dismount that was NOT there during mounting. It will be sometime next month as cash a bit tight right now. RIDE SAFE.

That is three times the mileage I get on a Cobra, on the rear of my Valkyrie Interstate. I also use balancing beads. I have reused some of the beads, the hard part is rounding those little buggers up. Do you have uneven wear on the left side of your rear tire?

No uneven wear but as I stated I am on the Austone Taxi Tire. You would play three different kinds of hades gittin me back on a M/C specific rear tire. RIDE SAFE.

24,000 miles on a front tire I don't care if it's a Shinko or made from titanium. Do you ever use the front brake?

24523 the final tally on this tire. My local Honda dealer R & Rd the old tire for the same make and model-Shinko 777 W/W and put in new B Bs. There was NO rust and the inside of the old tire looked as good as the new one and could have reused the old B Bs. The Svc Mgr the Asst Svc Mgr and the tech that did the actual tire change and most of the other techs were to say the least impressed. Just wuderin will I be Able to see if I can put another 24 G on the new front tire? I KNOW others here would NOT run a Shinko if it were given to them. To each their own. RIDE SAFE.

I wonder if somebody at the factory slipped in a different compound mixture when nobody was around. Maybe spilled his soda in the mold or sumpthin.

I've ran Shinkos for years, on various bikes....but all were big, heavy bikes. Last ones I got were for the '02 Valkyrie I just sold. Those who automatically dismiss Shinkos, are clueless. Both of mine said made in Korea....I guess they assume they're made in China?

I want to make sure I understand what you did; Did you put a rear tire on the front? How many BB's did you put in the tire (front tire). ===================================================== I used to run a rear tire turned backwards on the front of my goldwing...worked great...

Nope-it are a front tire-140 80 17 bias ply. A smidge more than 2 ounces. I get my weights for tire size from the Balance Beads website. Side wall calls for 42 P S I so it is inflated to 42 P S I. I have a small electronic scale from H F and it seems to be accurate enough for what I do hence the smidge more on the weight! RIDE SAFE.

I used Balance Beads twice but was disappointed with the dust jamming open the Schrader valve with pressure checks even after the initial shot of air. Someone? here had mentioned air soft pellets and I already had BBs for my BB pistol. The BBs that came out of the tire are still shiny not nicked or rusted up and as I stated most likely could have reinstalled but put in new ones. My examination along with the Svc Mgr and the others I mentioned were all impressed with the results. As were I! The day I pulled the front wheel and when we took the wheel into the shop for R & R the BBs were still rollin around freely inside the tire. And if you can't scoop them all out of the old tire well a magnet Will finish the job! RIDE SAFE.

How did the surface of the inside of the old tire look? Polished? Any grooves or other visible deformations?

The inside of the 24G tire looked almost as good as the zero mile tire. I don't KNOW at what speed centrifigul force actually holds the beads in place but when I twist Phatt Ghurls tail all I hear is her howl! I don't remember the name of the Carnival ride that was a big drum that spins and the the floor falls away and yer stuck to the wall BUT same principal. I have zero idea HOW this thing works but works it duz. Company I used to drive for-O T R X-they're gone now introduced me to Balnce Beads. They increased big truck steer tire life anywhere from 25% to 40% or so. BIG savings for ANY size fleet! RIDE SAFE.

I was on one packed full of people when some guy puked out like 17 chili cheese dogs and beer. I know there is a scientific explanation for the centrifugal and centripetal forces at play (along with gravity and wind), but suffice to say that no one on that ride escaped unpuked-upon. At least he had his pants on. Likening his puke to balance beads, there seemed to be a very even distribution of balancing media throughout.
