ell, I know that there are motorcycle fork locks that lock the handlebars in position when parked...Also there are wheel locks that you can put on wheels that alarm and are locked so the wheel doesn't rotate and can be stolen...But I have found the best way to secure your ride...It works and your bike can notify your phone when some movement is made with your bike...Check it out and see what you think...I am at ease now that my bike won't be stolen and lost forever...!!! hide it anywhere on your bike...!!!

Of the hundreds (thousands?) of Valkyries that participants in the VRCC message boards have represented over the years, I think I have only heard of one or two being stolen, and it's been a long time since that has happened.  Some Valkyrie riders glue a chrome head onto their key and leave it in the ignition switch all the time.  I always lock the steering and pocket the key.  Another anti-theft technique is to park beside Harleys, which are far easier to fence than a motorcycle that even younger Honda salespeople are sometimes unaware of.

Peace of mind is always good.  And when I go on long trips, I do lock my forks and maybe stick a padlock on a front brake caliper (always have 2 keys BTW), and always try to get a room on the first floor where I can look right out my window to see my bike (or hear something fishy).

(All I ever heard was the shenanigans of other members putting away vast quantities of beer or shine, or burning their under-britches   Grin)

But Gryph is right, thieves are not stealing Valkyries (even beautifully tricked out ones).  No 2-3 guys are going to lift one into a pickup (they don't like working that hard).

I suppose it has happened, but I can't ever remember a single story of a Valk being stolen.

Soccer moms and tourists sticking children on your seat for a picture is another thing.

To me, besides the fork lock, the best security for a road trip is a small half cover to keep the rain, frost and bird crap off, and the curious away overnight (about softball size packed).  Almost no one will ever lift or remove a bike cover.  And they will stop right away when they discover a laser dot on their chest.

Here's mine (and it's lasted for many years).

One of those motion sensor alarm padlocks (for a front brake caliper) might be an OK idea.  But the sensitivity needs to be adjustable (so a fart or breeze doesn't set it off).

I have a neighbor who put his old truck on the street with an alarm, and every fifth car or motorcycle that drove by set it off.  And he did not go out and turn it off, and it would go on for a long time.  No one ever tried to steal his truck.  We had to go over and ask him to turn it off, or turn the sensitivity up, or he was going to start having some vandalism problems in no time.  Same deal in motel parking lots.

What GR said.

I regularly leave mine sitting with the keys in them.  My position is that the people who know what a Valkyrie is won't steal it out of respect.  Those who don't won't because it's a big heavy bike (and it's not a resell easily Harley).

Yes I guess it is right that a Valkyrie is not the top choice to steal...but every time I park my bike by any H-D or Yamaha,Indian or any other bike, those bikes all turn in the direction of my Valkyrie and bow in honor to be close to it...!!!

I think it's just another plus- owning a Honda cruiser.  My 1100 never got touched. I stopped locking it LONG ago. I live in a fairly safe area though.
