cold starting

I tried to start my bike at 55 and it wouldn't. Today I heated the garage to 72. Fired right up just like summer. Didn't even charge the battery first from cranking it 3 or 4 times. Anybody else have this problem.

When you tried to start your bike (at 55*), did you use the choke? If you did use the choke, make sure you push it all the way down. It makes a difference.

Push choke until it stops, then push it farther. The choke only goes on with the hard push. The lever will be about horizontal when on.
You are NOT getting it choked.
