Hello all- I'd wanted to order one of the Motosens temp gauges for the Valkyrie, so I read through all of the Motosens pages instructions of what to do to order, and (per their website's instructions) wrote Motosens an email with the list of what I wanted, and waited for a return email from them with details of what to pay.... and.... have heard nothing in reply for 2 weeks.

I have read some prior discussions that the company went through transitions and maybe wasn't super fast on responsiveness for some time now- but I am wondering, based on others' recent experience-

Are they really still in business?

If they are in business, did they actually fulfill your order reasonably quickly after you paid?

Any other suggestions on how to get a response from them?

Thanks in advance

Hi Locomotive,

The responsiveness of Motosense is indeed nonexistant. The business went into hands of someone who does not care some years ago. Our friend, Joop Angelier was in the process of buying all his inventory but Joop died from cancer a few months ago.
I will get in touch with the Germany Chapter about Motosense whereabouts and status. Perhaps they know more.
I'll get back to you on this subject

I'd read some of Joop's innovations and postings in prior years and was truly impressed with his work and him just seeming like a gentleman and a class act. Very sorry to hear of his passing.

Thank you for checking with the German Valk folks about whether Motosens is still doing any business or whether there's just an un-dead website.  Much appreciated.

Hi Locomotive,

I just received an answer on the Germany BBS.

Someone went to Motosense just a few hours ago. The shop is still open for business.
Stephan Nielsen, the owner had some health problems the last year or so.
He asks to reconfirm orders once more that were placed in the past to his email info@motosens.com
Stephan told that he will adress these orders straight away from now on.
The shop is not his primary business, he has another 40 hrs job and is only attending Motosense in the weekends.
The articles and prices on the website are still current.
If you still have problems with Motosense, please get back to me beer.vanhuet@gmail.com or PM

Motosense adress and Tel. No.

Hi Locomotive,

Many thanks! I just went back and it looks like when I'd copied the email address from some of their materials, a typo error had crept in. I just resent using the address that you provided, hopefully I will hear back from him. I really appreciate your help.

Thanks!

. . . I just resent using the address that you provided . . . .

Took me a while to figure out why you would despise using that address. ???

HOMOGRAPHS are words that are spelled the same but have different meanings. Heteronyms are a type of homograph that are also spelled the same and have different meanings, but sound different. WORDS THAT BOTH SOUND THE SAME AND ARE SPELLED THE SAME are both homonyms (same sound) and homographs (same spelling).

Sorry for the hijack.

That's funny!  It took me a second to understand what you were talking about, because I read resent as "sent again", rather than "feel indignation about".

Just to let you know that I'm still trying.
Bison told me a few weeks ago that he would follow up, since he lives close by.
Then it became quit and he does not respond to my reminder.
I called him with a seperate message to see what is going on.
To be continued Smiley

I just received a message from Bison

There is no answer by telephone.
Bison will ride to the shop once again next week, perhaps somebody will be at home.

Enjoy the Motosens gauges that you've already got, because despite kind and earnest efforts by Beer van Huet and a friend of his that live or rides near where Motosens was located, I've never been able to get any information that gives me indication that Motosens is still a going concern. If anyone else has any more current or encouraging info, I'll be glad to hear

The key to those gauges was the oil pressure sender adapter and coolant temp sender adapter. Figure out a way to reproduce those and you're 2/3 of the way there.

A gazillion outfits make 1 1/2" - 2" gauges of various types plus mounting cups and related hardware. The balance of the setup can be sourced from them, possibly with some custom bracket work.

For those who are within riding distance of me (NEOH) and are looking to install such a package on their bikes, I can build OEM-spec wiring harnesses to suit - and have done so for VRCC members in the past.

Despite several attempts on the Germany BB, I have not heard from Motosens for 6 months now.
I take it therefore, that the shop no longer exists.
