So far had 135 lookers, 7 watchers. Starting bid of $1500 with a reserve high enough to recover some of the parts cost. I sure hope it sells, need to move on....possibly another project but who knows. Thinking about that trike in my other post, if the offer from the dealer in trade is way out of line(usually is) then I could just buy the Roadsmith kit and do the work myself for less money, just would have to work out the financing of the kit. Plus, I'd know what I have as far as it being my current ride to begin with. I'm just thinking a trike might be a bit safer for me as the years pass. Legs are still strong, easily do 300+ leg presses so the knees are still working. Good reflexes, snatched a fly mid-air much to Rita's surprise(and mine) a couple days ago while sitting on the front porch. Just have to see what it all boils down to for either bike. If the 1200 doesn't sell, I'm seriously considering either converting the rear to parts off a 1500 Wing which is mostly bolt in. Or....make it into a trike. Or....quit thinking about all of it and go with the flow of whatever happens. I'm just getting stir crazy so need something to do.  Grin

How good are you at fabricating? Welding? Build a leaning trike. Google GM Lean Machine. Rear wheels stay vertical while the front leans like a motorcycle. The motor is in the rear behind the seat.
GM had one at World of Motion for opening ceremonies when Epcot opened. Part of the GM area had a display with parts and pieces. I got to sit in the real one it,  back stage,  but driving was not an option for me.

Good luck with your sale John, you might be surprised and it may sell for more than you expect.
If it does not meet the reserve just re-list it again, someone will pick it up.

John,
You might want to look up Floyd Hale form Connersville IN.  He used to be on here with the handle Ghost.  He just fabricated a trike out of his IS using a rear end from a Mustang.  He did all of the fabricating for the conversion and made the body parts. It is very nice.  He has posted the build on Facebook.

You mean, when I finally hit the age milestone you are at that I will need to become proficient at sitting on the porch trying to catch flies bare-handed?  cooldude

Now you know better than that, I didn't have a newspaper handy and a cell phone just doesn't work as good.  Wink  Guess you could say the newspaper will never be replaced by radio or TV, ever try to hit a fly with one?   Grin

Not much to say but enjoying this thread.  If I had the coin I would buy Rogers Roadsmith IS.

Well, over 360 views so far with 13 watching and 1 bid at the start price. I stated in the description that the reserve was close to what I have invested in parts, I guess the one bidder doesn't realize the start and reserve have to be different numbers. Sure would like to see a few more hundred bid, might cause me to drop the reserve a bit just to move it.

Good luck with the sale.
When I list an item on eBay I just start the asking bid at the lowest price, that I want.
That way it sells after 1 bid.

Jack, that's about what I did. The starting price is a bit under my bottom dollar, just have to wait and see.

John, the majority of the bidding will take place very close to the ending time.

I know you're right but still gets to me when there's 500 views, 18 watchers, and 1 bid. Goes off Thursday late afternoon....5:xx don't recall actual time. If it doesn't sell maybe I'll convert it to a 1500 Wing rear end and just ride if for a while.

Well, it didn't sell. Had 678 views, 28 watchers, and 1 lousy bid of $1500 which was the starting price. All the while the posting said "reserve not met" which I had in the low $2k. I got a note from Ebay telling me I need to lower the price by at least $150, I'll donate it to a charity and take a good write-off before I give it away for anything close to $1500. I'll list it again on Craigs List in 2-3 locations, just to see what pops up. If no bites then, out it goes to charity. I know the new tax law will have a large deduction built in so a lot of people won't be itemizing. With Rita's health issues, we've had some pretty large write-offs the last few years so we still might be able to itemize. Meanwhile.....
