Build them yourself.  I've got a little over $600 in these including paint.

These are "Tsukayu Strong Bags" The total cost shipped to me painted was $560.00. I am very pleased with them. They dismount very easily, much fsater than the stock bags, for maintenance/cleaning. They come with all hardware and heavy chromed mounting brackets. I upgraded the latches to the "heavy duty" They resemble the stock bag latches a little more.

I'll second the "Tsukayu Strong Bags"...  My friend Daryl has them (I believe his are the Jumbo), and they look great on the Valk.  Big, well made, and not a bad price.

Here's a Pic of his bike.

I've had the Champion Patroits for years and love them, but now a days, they are quite expensive.

Anyone know how closely the lines of the strong bags follow that of the Honda Stock Tourer bags? I like the look of their top racks and wondered if they'd work on the Tourers Stock Bags. Anyone try them yet??

WDValk,
I ordered mine from Value Accessories...http://www.valueaccessories.net/  They are a Mom & Pop outfit out of Ohio. They have them "in stock". They also ride Valkyries.
If you order from Tsukayu directly, they come from Japan and you WILL WAIT for them. HDL does have them, but call first because when I was ordering they did not have the nice heavy upgraded latch available. Hope this helps...Good Luck cooldude

I got mine at valueaccessories also, Got them in two weeks and in perfect shape, Like stated above, I checked several places and valueaccessories had them in stock. Look better than the National Cycle hardbags that came on my scoot and more room

I got my Tsukayu jumbo hard bags at HDL, they had them on sale for 15% off, they cost me less than $500,(in primer) and they were at my door within a week. I think they have a 10% off sale going right now.

As far at the racks fitting, I was wondering that also, I think the curve is close to the factory bags, they might just work with a little tweaking.

Champion makes the closest look alike bags I've seen so far, but that could be a matter of
angle of the pictures I've seen on other manufacturers.

But that Tsunami or what ever brand it's called seems fair priced.

One more tip...If you get these or any other brand, follow the mounting instructions exactly, triple check yourself before drilling. I like mine mounted lower. I believe it adds to the look. They follow the same lines as the rear fender, and this looks great if your a solo set up. They claim 1" minimum clearance between the bottom of the bags and the pipes. That's what I did and have no heat problems on the bags, no paint problems. Mine stay hot too, I ride much more than most and usually all day long. I used painters tape and taped a 1" peice of wood to each pipe and rested the bags on top for proper fit and alignment before drilling.
I've seen another who did not take his time and mounted them way too high and it looks rediculous.

Well you are all talking about exactly what i am looking for info on. I'm a newbie hear and this is how it started for me this weekend. I've been looking at Valkyrie's for several weeks now falling deeper and deeper in love with them. Kinda of had an idea what I wanted mine to look like and all. I decided I'd like it solo most of the time and with a passager seat some of tghe time. i also wanted hard bags and bag rails around them. It seemed that it was more diffacult to find one with the rear guard rails. And then I saw it. rear guard rails on e-bay. I won the bid, great! Oh crap I don't own a Valkyrie yet. Now what. Ok I found one today for $6k and it's a 1998 that was uncreated for the first time and assembled in 2004. Burgandy and cream with 15K miles on it. Tryed to low ball the seller then found out it was her husbands who died two weeks ago. Felt like crap so I gave the extra thousand buck. That ok though. Now I need hard bags but they need to fit in the guard rails like the stock ones. Had been looking at the Tsukayo's and also the Invicta Motosports bags which actually look a bit more like the Honda bags. Anybody seen these around?

Boy talk about the wrong way to get a bike.

Loved the test riude though. had a GL1000 in the 80's This sounds and smells the same. Yes it has a smell that any other bike I've owned did not have.

Rich,
Invicta makes quality bags, no doubt. They WILL NOT FIT THE VALK Ask me how I know... I went round and round with this company. I was specifically told on three occasions they would fit. Long story short, took over one year to get my money back.
Now what they won't tell you is that you can make it fit with "modifications" and removing/changing out your tailight assembly. In 1.5 years dealing with them, I never got anyone to answer the phone or return a call. I was dealing with a dirty third party. Who knows, maybe that's changed ???
Speaking from personal experience, I would run away. Wouldn't wish this company on an enemy.

Welcome, Rich.  I tried to contact Invicta when I was shopping for my hard bags.  They never responded to emails or phone calls.  I wound up with an OEM $etup, but it took a while to get the bags, have them painted, get the stays, etc.  If I had to do it over, I'd go straight to Tsukayu or Champion.  I like the recessed latches on the Champion bags.

If I had it to do over again Roll Eyes  I would have spent much more time finding the right Valk, outfitted and accessorised the way I want it. When I add it all up, could have bought two Valks at todays prices.

Does anyone know if either the Champion or the Tsukayu fit in the Honda bag guard rails? It would help if someone who had the Honda bags could give me some dimentions or if thay had either of the two bags in question already mounted with the Honda rails?

There is a trike conversion dealer here local that has two sets of stock bags. I'll check and see if he still has them.

A better view of  Daryl's bags.
This is one of the nicest looking Valkyries with the Tsukayu Strong Bags.

Those look like the "Jumbo" bags.  Little wider than the "Strong" and open from the side.
+1 on the Tsukayu bags .... Ordered my "Strong" bags from HDL, they were on backorder and had to wait 5 weeks to get them but are pretty nice. The keys were missing and a couple of the mounting brackets were sub-par for workmanship so I contacted Tsukayu directly and sent me the keys and a couple new brackets free of charge.
