After the Incident last October, I am finally back in the saddle on a 1999 Tourer. Picked her up in early April but took almost a week to get her registered. Then New England spring happened so I have only been able to ride her to work both days this week.
However, with riding, comes the need for cleaning. I've been using the Honda Spray Cleaner / Polish for my GL1200, but that bike has a lot more Tupperware than the Tourer. Can I still use it for the Tourer? Any other recommended products that people have used?
Thanks.
Pete

That's all I use, except for lemon pledge.

I use Dawn dish detergent in warm water. If you can find it-can't find it here in Missouri where I live-Spray and Shine-brand name-for the paint chrome and whatever. In the archives there is mention of things that work for others here. I've just barely scratched the surface. RIDE SAFE.

Simple Green is what I use. Spray the bike down with it and let it sit for a few minutes, but don't let it dry (and don't spray it on a hot bike) then spray off with hose, then just use a car wash soap. (The simple green will help loosen the road grime.)

Use a leaf blower to dry it. It reduces the chamois step.

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is great for removing bug guts off paint and windshield. I keep a small spray bottle in one bag. Lemon pledge is a great cleaner wax too. Hydrogen peroxide is what I used to remove water spots on my new pickup, spray a small area and wipe to dry

Dawn will strip your wax job, not a good thing to use on anything beyond dishes IMHO.

It never fails to amaze me. People will try anything and everything except the right stuff.
News flash. They make this magic stuff made for vehicle washing that you pour a tiny bit in a bucket of water and it can clean your whole bike.
Using a mild degreaser on the engine and other greasy parts like Simple Green is great. I use Mean Green.
I wash my bike like that maybe once a year. Then a couple fresh coats of wax.
On a daily basis and after rides I clean my Valkyries with another magical liquid. Water. Water works just fine to get dirt off of a waxed surface.
Don't make the simple complicated

Jeff you have seen my Bee with your own eyes and she is 21 now and hasnt been waxed. Simple green first then soapy water and a good drying. I remember you stating that other than your red and white my engine block was the cleanest you had seen.

Yes you keep that thing nice. I do wax the paint and chrome but besides the wax we do it the same way

for chrome polish/cleaning, cheap old turtle wax chrome polish in green bottle for a few bucks works wonders even if let sit on chrome awhile letting it set up some, rubbing it off chrome exhaust, etc. will even take off small rust spots.
any old car wash cleaning for paint in hot water works fine for me cheapest thing around besides just plain old water and dry off with chamois cloth (shammy).
do not see the need to spend 10 bucks or more on a bottle of speciality cleaner.

That's why I use Mean Green. Dollar store, one whole dollor lasts a long time.
