I found this on another website and thought it might be of interest to somebody that needs to clean some carbs.

Interesting!  I think it would work great for the outside of the carbs, but the inside?  Maybe it's just me but, I would be against putting anything in powder form in the insides of a carb. I am going to disassemble mine fully and dip them in carb cleaner overnight, wash with water and use compressed air on them.

It really works good and no problems putting it inside the carbs. The shop that does all my heads uses a blaster with baking powder and I can tell you its so much better. He used to use a glass bead but the work to clean the passages in the head was quite extensive and the same goes with sand blasting the residue would get in and even with boiling them would still have to worry about it. Now no problems and like the article said it dissolves in water the end result is actually cleaner and there is no metal removed so you dont have to worry about mating surfaces and delicate work. The heads dont come quite as shiny but I would rather have clean and safe than shiny and hidden dirt. Not to mention a little paint and you will never see the difference. cooldude
