I did a search to see if this topic had already been worked to death, but couldn't find anything I was really looking for. Anyone replace their passenger's pegs with mini-floorboards of one brand or another? I'm not looking for chrome, as I have a black Valk. Just want something more comfortable for her, yet not visually obtrusive when folded up. Thanks in advance!

Part of the problem would be the clearance from the floor board to your leg. When my wife is on the bike now she has to turn her feet outward a bit to clear my legs when my feet are on the ground. Floor boards for the passenger I think would be a problem with hitting them all the time.

Thanks, Robert. That makes some sense. It also helps explain that a lot of people looked at this thread for days and no one, until you, responded with anything at all. The little lady has tiny feet, so she isn't bothering my legs at all, but she is looking for a way to adjust her seating position a bit during longer rides. I'll mention this to her and then we'll go out to the garage with a tape measure and see what we can do. Hadn't considered what you mentioned.

I (and she) appreciate the response!

Maybe instead of boards, you need to raise the pegs a bit.  You can get fatter pegs too.

When your feet barely reach pegs, your butt carries all your weight.  Raise them up and take weight off the bottom, and bent knees are more comfortable.

I don't have an 1800, but this may still be applicable.

I never want floorboards behind my driver's feet/legs.

Thanks again, guys, for the input. Jess' comment is well-taken and I just have to deal with a partner that has physical issues, etc. We just like to ride, but sometimes come home and have to recover a day or two. No complaints. Have friends that have legit ones. The season is upon us, Friends.  Ride like you mean it.

Just a point of consideration also I have the Corbin bags that actually are far enough forward that restrict her foot from going back any farther. The bags even have a protector on the front of them so her foot doesn't scratch the bag. That is the reason she cannot put her foot back on the pegs.

While if I didn't have the bags she could slide her feet back the natural riding position on the pegs for the pass is further forward. If you would like I can take a closer pick of the side if that would help.

Heck I may have a picture or two  Wink  Grin

While riding its no problem but stopped and maneuvering its a bit tight. Walking or backing that room between the drivers peg and the rear peg is the room you need. Especially since your leg is out from the side about 3 to 4 inches the exact space that a foot rest would require and the same space my wife's feet occupy if not turned out.

Very nice looking bike, Robert. We got out yesterday (first time this year for her) and were very conscious of the peg positions. We agreed that she's probably better off without the boards. Without those (very slick looking) bags that you have, she has a bit more wiggle room. Miss having bags sometimes, but just like the look of the naked Valk.
Thanks again, and to Jess, too.

No problem and thanks.

I have a friend that bought the bike based on how he liked mine and he also likes the naked bike. It just didn't do it for me though and wasn't going to buy the bike till I had bags and didn't like the look of the factory bags. When Corbin came out with their bags and I saw them that was it for me, went and bought the bike, bags windshield and withing 3k miles changed the tires and that was about perfect for me. Sold my 1500 after awhile of course and haven't looked back.

Some others here have done a great job of putting other bags on the bike and they look really good. Maybe some ideas for you that will work in case you wanted some.

I dont know if you considered it yet or have replaced the seat but the factory seat is not the greatest and an aftermarket seat might make the little lady a bit more comfy. It might also change seating position a bit to make her a little happier with the ride. Anything we can do to make the other half more comfy is a good thing for us.  Wink
