There are a couple of items on ebay the seller is listing as off an Interstate that I'd be interested in if they'd fit my Standard.  Would anybody know if these would swap?  Both bikes are '99s.

The switch on the left handlebars (signal, horn, etc...), triple trees, and the rear drive assembly.

Or would I need to compare part #s at Honda?

They should all fit any Valkyrie/any year.  However, if your bike has a polished rear drive (Im thinking that was year 2000) but if its polished, the IS one wont be, it will be painted.

Thanks for the info.

I have no way to tell if my rear drive was polished or not, the previous owner had a lot of stuff chrome plated probably back in '99 and either it was a crappy job or since the bike was stored in a shop, covered with a tarp for 2 1/2 - 3 yrs and nothing done to it, even cleaning, the plating is blistering/peeling real bad.  So even if it's the factory paint it will be a tremendous improvement.

I bought this thing a few weeks ago and have been looking in the classifieds here and on ebay for items I need. (I'm the one who posted earlier in the week about winning a bid, paid for it immediatly and not receiving the item yet, been almost 2 weeks and still haven't got it)

Most of the triple tree will work, except the top of the interstate triple tree will not work, only because it is not drilled and tapped for the gauge mounting. DAMHIKT   Angry At least my original top tree was still in good shape...

When I asked some time back, only response given was the difference in part numbers between I/S & Std/Tourer, but nobody knew for sure. Now I (we) know...

If you have a machine shop close by, could get it drilled and tapped, it's just 4 holes.

I have a perfectly good triple tree set that I just removed from my 98 standard Valkyrie. The reason I removed it was to install raked triple trees because I have a sidecar mounted on the bike and wanted easier steering.

Let me know if you are interested in the triple trees. I believe PinWall MC Parts house gets $150 for usede trees. I'll sell them for $100 if you want them. They came off a valk with 50k miles and are in excellent condition. The trees have bearings and I also have new inner bearing races if you want them. email: barrybos@optonline.net

BOZ:
How is the sidecar working?  How about the raked triple tree running without the sidecar?  I am looking at the same thing, and really want to know.

Thanks.
