I had just read this month in one of my regular cycle mags that, when reviewing a long-term 2017 BMW (can't remember the model, but a larger bike), mentioned that BMW had already "released four computer program updates" since the bike had been produced. I've noticed this in other articles about other bikes, as well. My bike ('14 Valk) doesn't have ABS, various traction settings and programs, connected (f/r) brakes, etc., just like most of the rest of you. So maybe the BMW had all those things and more and the mfg. had to "improve" things on the fly after the bike was sold to the public? Who pays for these updates, should you decide to opt in? How do these updates affect warranties, if at all? Are the updates worth it? Does Honda do updates like that on other bikes? Older bikes? I have questions, Honda!! ???
Can I assume that the rest of you have never been sent an urgent message from Honda telling you to be sure to get your newest, best-est update to bring your bike up to snuff? I'm sure some of you will have a quick answer(s) to the above. Thanks, per always.
