I took my gas tank off to have it painted and I removed the petcock and the fuel level sending unit. After it was painted, I put the items back on. There was no gasket on the sending unit and I thought this was odd. I have searched for a gasket for it and can not find one. Anyway, needless to say, i have a gas leak. Any suggestions on where to get a gasket or what I can use to stop the leak?

Thanks a bunch!!!

If it is the gasket (o-ring) for the fuel sender it is #26   O-RING (39.5X5)

2003 Valkyrie...  fuel level sending unit.

2003 Valkyries were all Standards... only Interstates have gas gauges... maybe I don't
understand...

This would be correct for the sending unite. I guess some pictures or some type of clarification would be in order.

Not sure what is up, but the unit has a some wires that come out and go towards the handlebars, but my bike has no gas gauge or gas light. These wires were not hooked to anything when I removed the tank.

Sounds like a previous owner put an I/S tank on . You’ve almost a couple extra gallons now. There is some workaround for hooking up a gauge.

... and a plate somewhere (RedEye?) that you can use to close off the sending unit hole and
forget about it.
