Hello experts,

I am repairing a fuel leak in the o-rings of the fuel rail. Pulled the carbs. Split one side, no problem, and have it back together. But now I am having trouble splitting the carbs on the other side.

Any recommendations on how to get them apart.

Thanks in advance, Steve

Not there , so just going thru the motions. Are the joint bolts removed. A shot of wd40 may help.
Use a blunt soft punch to the most solid part of the carb. Tap and move. Lube and repeat. Do not get in a hurry. Kind of hard to explain in writing.

Thanks for your assistance. I did get them apart with a lot of soft taps on a flat blade screwdriver. The screw driver was placed against the carbs at the joint held together by the bolts and dowels. The is a little exposed ridge on one joint and a ridge with identification numbers on the other. It took two people, one holding the cards and one tapping, alternating between the joints. Long slow process. But it is all back together now. Running strong and no gas leaks. cooldude
