What makes you think your carbs need syncing ?

she's popping at idle, which increases with throttle. Intermitant. No popping on decal. Just changed my O-rings on fuel rails which wer leaking badly. got that fixed, checked the airbox and tubes for leaks.... negative. Changed out the plugs....negative. tightened all clamps for a third time.... still popping. I have never had her synced in 20 years. Figure that's my last resort......
thanks for your reply.

In your profile, I think you mean "formerly"(previously) as opposed to "formally"(like wearing a tux).....correct?  cooldude

As for the popping, still sounds like an air/vacuum leak somewhere.

Or dirty carbs need cleaning not syncing ....
I doubt carbs are much out of sync. . .
Try the berrymans couple tanks worth . . .
Run it at lower rpms higher gear while working berrymans thru
No since ofjust burning it rightout let it get in those slow jets  .  . .
Then maybe you could try and sync the carbs ? ? ?
Or spray some ether in the area of the carbs while running and see if you hear any difference . . .

Have you looked into the Orings on the intake manifold's. And checked all vacumm lines too. Like John has mentioned it sounds like a vacumm leak.

no popping on decal leads me to believe it's somewhere from the carbs up. I'll try the spray around the carbs and see if I can't find it there. Maybe one of those tiny hoses on the side of the carbs. Only the right side has the popping.
thank you for the responses.
