The 1200 has been sold. My granddaughter's husband bought it, didn't want to say anything to me until he got his bike endorsement. I found out a couple days ago that he asked my granddaughter if I had sold it yet, if not then he wanted it. It's raining today so he'll be back next weekend and ride it home and will have the new tag for it by then. His reasoning for buying it....said he could pay that much and more for a different bike but wouldn't know the condition of it. He has watched me work on it over the last couple years and always showed interest, just didn't have the endorsement. He's an experienced rider, just never went through the trouble of getting a Florida bike endorsement before now. I joked with Rita, pointed out all the room I'll have in the garage again. Her silent answer was in the form of a look, which I'm sure doesn't need explaining.

I have seen that look before as well. I am fairly sure it means you need another project.

Reasoning? He knows he has the perfect permanent mechanic for his new bike. Ok... Now Valk please.

I told him in jest that he had his choice of two warranties: 1) guaranteed all the way to the curb, or #2) 30 days or less, whichever comes first.

30 feet or 30 seconds, whichever comes first!

hey John, the classifies just got a new posting on an interstate sitting for 5 years. It's not like you're spending the $2500.00 just reinvesting it.

Reinvestment opportunities abound. I'm sure the "look" was merely contemplation of the various opportunities .

Glad you sold it and that it went to a good home. Win win situation. I can't wait to see what the next chapter brings

Afraid not, can't find anyone to spell me for nine days so I already cancelled my registration and hotel reservation. No choice at the moment, I doubt anything will change. If it does I might drive up for a couple days just to mingle with old friends.

Well, they came to get the bike today....first day it wasn't raining and with the forecast for the weekend being more rain, they wanted to get it home. I insisted he take it around the block before leaving on it for the 17 mile ride home, suggested he use some rpm....reminded him it wasn't a Harley. He's about 6'5" and just over 300lbs. so I told him he needs to learn not to lug the engine. Went around the block and did fine, albeit a little hesitant since it's new to him. My granddaughter told me he's happier than a pig in mud. I got a text later, she told me he was running 80mph on the 417 toll road headed for the exit where they live up near Sanford. Said it did good and he was tooling along with a big stupid grin on his face. I guess I'm relieved. Told him as big as he is I wasn't sure how effictive the windshield would be since he sits a tad higher in the saddle than I do.
