Been experiencing a vibration from the rear of the bike and it only happens when riding upright in a straight line. If i lean to the left or right or even zig zag on the road it quits. Sometimes its more noticeable and sometimes it quits almost completely. I have new tires front and rear and i pulled the driveshaft and did all the required lubes and cleaned everything up. All looks great. Bike has just over 34,000 miles and has done this since i bought it at 27 thousand. I'm thinking maybe the dampers first or wheel bearings but I think that they would have failed by now and not come and go as its been doing. Any ideas on this?

I doubt a wheel bearing would do this for 7k miles before failure. When I had a rear go from the first sign until race was seazed in the wheel less than 100 miles.

thats what makes this all the more baffling. I'm gonna put it on the lift and see if i might can find looseness in swingarm or maybe even a engine mount. I'll find it I'm sure. This is my 11th or 12th bike and always did my own work. Being kinda new to the Valk brings new traits.

Check your tire pressures and for cupping. Might also check your shock bushings.

I would start with the shock bushings if they are the stock shocks.

As the source of a vibration? Really?

Actually, any vibration felt in the "rear end" unequivocally points to a problem with the universal joint. Say what you will, there is virtually nothing that can mimic the vibration caused by a failing universal joint.

have to checked the swing arm for tightness and bearings . never had that problem put sounds like you have cleared any problem's with drive train. out side of that the only thing left would be the wheel it self

Pressure washing a bike can cause wheel bearing failure at an early age.

I had this problem though I did not try the back and forth part. I would start to get a vibration at about 80/85 mph, it wasn't real bad but I wanted it gone so I pulled everything down (differential, shaft) and did not find any problems, everything looked great. I pulled the wheel weights and installed beads in the tire but the problem was still there. I pulled it down again and took a real close look at the u-joint and it did not seam to have any play in it, until I chucked it up in a vice. I secured one end in the vice and used a clasp wrench on the other and bingo you could see the play then but you could not see this while holding the u-joint in your hand, it was there you just could not see it. So I put a new one in it and that fixed the problem. Shock bushings had no effect on my vibration, mine were shot and replacing them did nothing. BTW: I bought this bike and the problem came with it, just like yours...
