Dear friends

Last week I rode through the Joshua Tree National Park on my way from Barstow (CA) to Fallbrook: https://goo.gl/maps/BeVbSyr98312

Here goes a link to a video of the Park, I hope you enjoy (try to select full HD and full-screen for better viewing experience):

Best regards

Thanks for sharing! Kinda reminds me of a drier Big Bend National Park... Sorta...

I would NOT wanna slide off the road into one of those angry shrubs!

...resisted the urge to download the video, reverse it and upload it back to get the illusion of going forward... Smiley

@Serk: thanks, bro.

I had a front facing camera but the external case got smudged and the video quality was pretty lame (resorted to use the rear facing camera instead).

Loved it! Good music for it as well.
Am wondering if I will ever get out there and get this beautiful country "seen" before I get too darned old to do it.

Brought back memories of me touring through there.  I had a Honda cb700 sc red and black Nighthawk.  I had never seen boulders that large before, or since.  At dusk I climbed the mountains in your background scans getting a great view of the Coachella Valley below.  Maybe my fondest memory was going out to the middle of Joshua Tree in 1996 at night to witness comet, I think, Hale-Bopp.  It was extraordinary.  I hope you enjoyed it, truly a different experience.

Thanks Savago

@all: thanks for the comments about the video, I really appreciate it.

What impressed me the most while there was 2 things:
a) The open landscape gives you this feeling of wideness that is part of the whole 'West' mystique. The combination of boulders and cacti is pretty unique.

b) The blue of the sky: not sure if it was something usual there, but I've never seem a sky as blue as on that day.

Made me want to return someday to camp there for a night or two.

Wow really good job and I loved it  cooldude cooldude cooldude cooldude

Thanks for posting that, it brought back memories and I would love to go there on my bike since I have been many times in the car. One of my first things I did when I went out there was pull a bit off the road and turn off the car and just stand and listen. It was so quiet that my ears hurt, I just looked around a bit and enjoyed the view.

The deep blue of the sky is the norm out there.

As an alternate, the Palms to Pines, Hwy 74, coming out of Palm Desert is a must ride.
