Honestly, Evan, I don't recall ever telling you anything remotely close to that.

The VRCC is not a Christian club but there are many Christians within it.  Christians by tradition pray to God at certain times, including before eating a meal.  I believe people of Jewish faith do that also.

I have no problem with the public prayer saying before his prayer that he is a Christian and will be praying as Christians pray but others may feel free to pray in their own tradition.  I have no problem with having someone lead a prayer in the Jewish tradition.  I would have a serious problem with someone leading a prayer in the muslim tradition.

I disagree with G.R.  I think anyone who is sincere but leads a prayer to the unspecified or ambiguous diety is very disingenuous.

I don't have a problem with a moment of silence during which people are encouraged to say their own prayer.

I like, you, Evan.  Contrary to what some have said we don't worship the same God but we all may meet and worship the same God before our life on Earth comes to an end.  We come from similar but different traditions.

I would enjoy hearing a rich prayer from the long standing Jewish tradition.  If it were to bless the food before a meal I would follow it with my own silent prayer.

Thank you for sharing that it has bugged you.  I, for one, will be thinking about it.

Oss - you apparently were offended and have felt that way for a while. Another indicated he just put up with it. More disagree with the blessing and or the wording.

I will stand by my posts and and neither of them are meant in a mean spirited way....to anyone.

I simply feel very lucky when anyone takes the time to bless all at a table, a gathering, or wherever. Makes no difference what beliefs that person has. I feel humbled to have been lucky enough to be present and included and this is coming from a "non-practicing" Christian. I have my beliefs and they are solid as I am but not shared in a church.

I think it's in poor taste to have a public group, but without labeling it as such, presume it's a denominational group. It's a Valkyrie group for sure, but other assumptions are probably ill-advised. I feel your hurt, Oss.
