Sherry and I took a ride to the beautiful Rhode Island coast today to have lunch, including some fresh oysters. The destination was the Matunuk Oyster Bar close to Matunuk Beach in South Kingston.

The owner aqua farms his own oysters in the tidal pond next to the restaurant. We had nine of his and nine oysters from Narragansett. The restaurants oysters were quite small, smaller than expected, but delicious. The oysters from Narragansett were bigger and just as good.

For lunch Sherry had an oyster Po-Boy and I had a delicious cheese burger cooked medium. Excellent!
Took back roads all the way home. Had a very close call on 102 near Exeter Grange. We were stopped cold in the road behind a state truck because of an accident. After a while a state worker waved us on to go around his truck and clear the accident scene. Since he was waving us on, I started to pull into the oncoming lane when all of a sudden a pick-up truck blew by us from behind with just inches to spare and pulled up to the accident scene. I was pissed and rattled. I want to stop to scream at him when we passed him stopped in the truck. But I think he was a policeman in his personal vehicle. If I was about 6 inches more in the road, it would have been devastating. Lesson learned, even when somebody's waving you on, do a Head Check.
We both shook it off and continued on our way. When we stopped for a bio-break later, Sherry said God was with us. I suggested it might have been the Good-Luck Bell that Bernie gave me, but she'd didn't buy it.

Aside from that very close call, it was a great day!
