Over the last week i have killed 6 chipmunks in my back yard,, here in town,, using these. They really work and are accurate.  Make almost no noise at all.

A few years ago I was doing a townhome project in downtown Chicago that if you wanted to park on site you got there plenty early. While waiting for the super to show and open the gate we would watch the rats frolicking in the alley.  We would often talk to one of Chicago's finest while waiting for the super and I asked if I could bring a pellet gun to help eliminate some of the vermin. He said while he thought that would be a worthwhile project, unfortunately, he would have to arrest me for discharging a dangerous weapon in the city.

I use a bullet trap I bought on Amazon that will work for .22lr. In the barn I can punch holes in targets to my hearts content without worrying about ricochets.www.amazon.com/Do-All-Outdoors-Bullet-Rated-Caliber/dp/B000FDSUHC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1530675404&sr=8-2&keywords=bullet+trap

That is because they have become a collectors item. They were way ahead of their time,, and there were all kinds of mods out there that you could make big changes to them.

They used to have one advertised in Easy Rider magazine that was powered by a 1 lb. can of Freon. I have a hole in the O-zone layer with my name on it.

Yeah,, someone got hauled in with one of those laying on their car seat. Then they verified what it was.

Cardboard box with duct tape target ,

I should have put a piece of red on the black.

This is at a measured 20 yards.

Marching the pellets up as I sighted in the scope.

Look closely and you can see the holes in the black tape.

After this I was able to break half inch stems on some tall weeds on the hill behind my house at about the same distance.

One other point, and I'm not 100% positive of the veracity of this one, but supposedly airguns are harder on optics than even the most powerful magnum centerfire rifle. If you're gonna put a scope on it, make sure the scope is airgun rated or it won't last long...

Hey, Serk.  How are you doing?  Your comment above is only valid for the spring-powered guns.  They "recoil" going forward as the spring releases... not to the rear.  Some scopes won't handle that.  The pump and CO2 guns are OK for even the cheapest optics.
